Guys,

I have a small concern, i spoke to friend of mine who has a good position in a stock brokerage.i asked about FLCH on whether it would go up.he said it will float around the current price which is 5.10 and 5.20 and its better off to sell it and go something else which is profitable.

I want to sell it but before that i want to get a second opinion,Do u think it is worthwhile holding on to this share??

I am also holding free lanka shares but I never sell it around 5.20. I saw some crossings at 7 rs few weeks ago. so long term value is there and it is good company to hold.

I think it is worthwhile as a medium and long term share rather short term.

I sold @ 5.80 and although I was feeling bad then, now it was a good decision, My strategy is to get rid of any share whether its good on paper or not if it had fallen ATR * 2.5 of the purchased price or earlier if I feel share will fall. Another example is TAFL , I entered @ 180 but sold at 175 with a loss... If this happens I consider this as bad entry point. I don't make super profits but overall it worked very well for me to preserve my capital in case of price fall. I see some people holding on to falling shares for long and ultimately they sell it at a higher loss. It depends on your strategy, your risk appetite and holding power I guess...

Well, I would say there is a sector, which is intended to outperform the future market 1~5 year. it is associated with green energy, CDM( Clean Development mechanism). I would not recommend anything. As world market direction, Renewable energy sector may perform well.
My priority concern with PAP, FLCH.

I don't say they will break X price nor Y price withing XX time. I would say, they have potential to develop, but it is always up to their top managements, if they can make use of these opportunities, well!

Please let me know the meanings of Medium term investments and long term investments? What are the time periods? Question

raa

Manager - Equity Analytics

for me:
- short is 1 week - 3 months
- medium is 3 months - 1 year
- and long is 1 year - 3 or 5 years depending on how patient or impatient you are.

I have a small IPO allotment for FLCH, and i'm not desperate to sell so i will sit on it as long as necessary. Don't be hasty to sell now unless you need the money!

Generally IPO comes to mkt with the discount and thus FLHC too. Now trading @ IPO price, those who bought with credit now trying to exit, if you look at the prospect and the demand for this share was huge. This is the same happened to LAUGHFS went down below the IPO price just after few days from IPO, rebound, I was lucky to accumulate at the IPO price and exit with super profit.
I feel the same for FLCH, and there are lot shares now oversold, fear make the case worse. If you have ability to hold, and to buy... I beleive it is worth.
