Is this the time period for exiting bank sector (SAMP, HNB, COMB, NDB, NTB etc.) realizing profits & re-entering the same anticipating future gains within two years time..

What is you question? To exit bankng shares now and wait for 2 years and re enter?

@slstock
If I dispose my banking shares now with reasonable gain & re-buying the same at the current price, could I get realized profit of 25-30% within two years.

Sorry still not clear. You want to sell now and rebuy at the same price now !!
( any reason other than margins )

In anycase, if you pick the right banks, 30% in 2 years is a very decent bet. We know there are sveral undervalued ones.

Just a curiosity, whether we need to follow entirely foreigners purchse and sale?

If yes, why these foreign share markets are tumbling here and there?

its simple , because easy speculative in CSE by foreigners..but is not like that in foreign country ( They are local for their country...lol  Very Happy )
easy example after foreigners left from the market in 2011 what happened... last two years they come in slowly with big participation...

So every one scared if they Sell...

Some stocks keep in good position by local investors also.. but we think this is the highest price that's why they are selling or taking profit and they wait to re enter in low level ..so if we sell with them we can also safe . even if we didn't make any profit ..if we come out then we safe otherwise we will stuck...

now a days they use trick sell and buy in local name and collect more and do again...
So we cannot justify

Better to keep buy at lowest price and wait to take one time big profit in a year or two years .. Trading always burnt hand

Mate, totally misconception.

See below the snapshot from 2012 CSE annual report

Top 10 Foreign purchase / sell - 2014-01-30 and 1-31 Cse58

http://www.cse.lk/pdf/CSE_Annual_Report_2012.pdf

We witnessed net outflow during end of 2011 and 2012, which is a small amount of fund left the country compared to the shares foreigner's holding at CSE.

Go through the reports of CSE and Data from CDS you can find more.

In your part, you always willing to play with the penny shares and crap warrants.( May be you like quantity of shares rather than quality of shares in your PF - But this is a common psycological problem)

Please do not take as a personal assault, just I'm trying to explain the situation.

Thanks Redbulls!

you right most of the time I go with penny stock but not Quantity the reason penny stock even in the next level (10Cts up ) I can Exit..but if it is others I need to wait 5/= to 10/= more over even if it is trading in same level I loose more brokerage..because I always filled my credit level..( bad habits is I can't sit without buying when I have buying power)

Thanks guys. I'm trying to share it as much as possible and frequently. btw, as redbull has spotted, pls be careful when taking decisions just seeing foreign buy/sell. But personally i am taking buy/hold decisions for strong foreign backup shares like JKH.

Yep, what is important is not the quantity of shares but the percentage of return.
