SC Securities said in a report the market could rally during the next four week period with the release of corporate earnings.

"We believe the market out look remains positive taking into account the low interest rate regime and the prospective robust growth in earnings of corporates. We advice our clients to capitalize on the prevailing bearish sentiment by picking stocks that are fundamentally sound and attractively priced."

What SC securities says is, not to buy at the peak and not to buy when the market down.

People if you want to be successful investors the first thing you need to get into your head is that shares don't rally because good earnings have been released.

Often I find people posting that shares will rally on release and a week later the same poster is asking: "why didn't share X go up even though they release excellent results".

Almost every book on investing will cover this topic. But in short, people buy shares expecting good earnings, that process itself drives the price up. There is no further reason for the prices to rise when the expected result is released. The only exception will be if the results are even better than expected.

In actual fact, all the results that have been released this quarter just barely meet expectations and some have been below expectations (even though growth is show, its less than what investors hoped for)

Yes...

companies are performing well and their financials are good.

If credit clearance issue is settle there is no undue selling pressure ,if UN issue is over there is no political uncertainty. So market need to go up and I see no other barrier for it but of course it will not grow indefinitely.

So many results are out, do you agree or disagree? I present these numerous threads on HOPL as further evidence.

http://forum.srilankaequity.com/search?search_keywords=hopl classic examples of "why didn't share X go up even though they release excellent results".

initially when the debt clearance announcement came last year, the market went nose diving. Then the December deadline relaxed to June. Now further relaxing. Implemeting and relaxing game goes on.

After the end of war market boomed and became the best performing market, then people started predicting the next barrier levels for ASI .I remember people saying ASI may even break 12000 levels by end 2011. Now its still stagnated at 7500 level.

the investors are cautious due to the bad experience from the date of SEC announcment came in. foreign outflow for the year 2011 up to end March itself amounted to 6.5 Bn. Nowadays retail investors running the show for CSE. the amount of IPOs and rights and the credit clearance have tied the retailers as well.

With the above factors Middle east crisis, UN report and Ban ki Moon have driven the Long Term Investors.

Will the market still expected to go! in comming weeks
