in most stock exchanges they have insurance against ur losses. which is call derivatives . which will maximize ur gains and minimize ur losses. cse must introduce index futures. which will dedicated to all the hot stock followers . and must introduce SHORTING.
and some argue well shorting is a very bad bad thing . but i only talking about normal SHORT SELLING. NOT THE NAKED SHORTING.
naked shorting is the most manipulated thing that i ever know . but in normal short selling the seller know this share is not value at this prices in current market . so he acted as junk unload er which will help to shine the share value from bad pricing .

i think when you post those in INVESTNOW the people just don't want to hear what they don't want to hear . all they want is 10 baggers 20 baggers etc.

nah! a few people were talking about it. I remember a fellow called DK at investnow and one other guy in this forum it was either avril or analytic not sure. it was on the chat.

as you said, Naked shorting is bad idea for sri lanka. it'll be carnage. normal shorting with the uptick rule should be just fine.

In my opinion derivatives are more dangerous in broker driven highly asymmetric information market like CSE..

That's ok. the asymmetry affects the long side as much as the short side. But with an uptick rule they won't be able to dump onto the market

Meta, Mono, I am with you. I've also been wondering why the CSE still doesn't allow shorting even though they have been talking about it for ages. If shorting had been available, you can be pretty sure that the prices of PCH, LGL and REEF would not have gone up in this absurd manner.
