Is this the reason for recent price hike with directors purchase???

below points highlighted from above article.

********************************************
[list][*]Sri Lanka’s Raigam Group, which recently went public with its subsidiary Raigam Wayamba Saltern Ltd (RWSL) is diversifying into confectionaries and has acquired a manufacturing plant with which it hopes to produce branded toffees.

[list][*]Raigam Group is exploring the prospects of manufacturing chemical-based products such as caustic soda, soda-ash and chlorine for which crystal salt is the main input now that their subsidiary has gone public. “We are looking at setting up a chemical plant in Trincomalee.

[list][*]Dr Liyanage said that in a bid to develop this saltern, RWSL may go in for a rights issue to raise the cash. He said that after completing this project, the company will put up an eco tourism project in the same premises.

[list][*]Raigam is also gearing to go public with its beauty care product arm, Dream Life Science with plans to list this company in the latter part of 2012.Raigam hopes to mainly diversity in cosmetics.

[list][*]Raigam will immediately start making toothpaste and a toothpaste manufacturing machine has been imported for this purpose with Rs 20 million investment.

[list][*]Dr Liyanage said that of the Rs 200 million raised from RWSL’s IPO last March, so far Rs 130 million has been utilised for capital expenditure. Development of Vanathavilluwa Saltern will cost Rs 90 million, the completion of Palavi Saltern will cost Rs 15 million and Puttalam Salt Refinery Plant will cost Rs 15 million,” he said.

[list][*]Analysts say that the demand for both household and industrial consumption in Sri Lanka is estimated to be 150,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) per annum. The actual average production is approximately 110,000 MT and the balance demand is met by imports where the imports are carried out by private parties. The industry has significant potential to develop as the country is surrounded by the sea and the tropical weather is conducive to the production of salt.

****************************************************************
Its seems IPO money handle them well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what's listed in the in the CSE is only the salt subsidiary. Raigam consists of lots of companies. Unfortunately only the salt company is listed in the CSE. Also the article says beauty care product arm may go public in 2012.

This looks like a press release intentionally made to deceive the reader. May be to increase the demand as they are coming up for a rights issue according to the press release. Quote "Dr Liyanage said that in a bid to develop this saltern, RWSL may go in for a rights issue to raise the cash."

It's ambiguous whose investing in the confectionery, chemicals and the proposed tourism project. Probably the parent company.

But what the heck. Reality is what people think not what really is. :-)

New members,

If don’t know how to play with people don’t buy this share on Monday. Look at financials... just 7 cents EPS for last six months. At the end CSE will be a boring business to you....

no surprise there, the tortoizepluz strategy has been to buy and then continuously promote the share.
thankfully the continuous promotion has been toned down in the case of BOPL and RWSL (which is a good change)

Check the candlestick chart pattern.
RWSL is a good counter as a long term investment at this range.
It has a potential to grow and little push back with new year. But again it will stagnate for a year or two below 5.
We have to c their next financial statement. A growing company will pay less devidents and invest the earning for research and development.
It is again up to you to buy or sell.
Good luck

I agree with some of his comments on RWSL but will not take any decision till I see next financials.

Still I cannot understand the decision based on BOPL. It is the worst tea plantation next to MADU and MASK. You cannot expect a quick recovery in tea industry until we see some stability in Middle East. It seems things getting worst with USA-Iran issue. On the otherhand BOPL CEO is not in a good condition for giving his full support for the business. BOPL CEO… what a good person he is… wish him a quick recovery..
