I think from this time budget luxury products will not get benefits as MR does not want to get criticize from JVP and UNP. Specially, unp is also speculating this time presidential election

I feel Government maybe increase taxes(Vehicle import Tax)

bcz government expenses for next year 17% increase according to last year.

Options
1)Selling Colombo Lands
2)getting foreign loans
3)Money printing
4)Increase Taxes (Vehicle, Arak, Sig, .....)

Need to reduce tax for vehicles manifacturs in sri lanka. Like Micro. See how India developed in vehicle manifacturing.

When talking about vehicle taxes they need to think about the price elasticity of demand.Already the vehicle taxes are increased by previous budgets & vehicle registration reduced drastically so less income for the government.

But when the taxes are low they earned much higher income due to increase in demand.Just check it out as don't have the numbers.

So the best thing is to maintain vehicle taxes at reasonable levels (at what demand level GVT can get the best income)

My view-Luxury vehicles (Engine capacity and other luxury options) will be taxed more while Hybrid vehicles will remain same.

this government do some unwanted stuff some times. now vehicle sector has good demand and USD out flow also not bad.

if they reduce Tax then out flow is very high. and also but government get some more money.

I believed if they maintain same level thats very good to industry.

we need more forign money and investers. need increase our production as earn forign money to prevent from international debt...it can do only by UNP government

govt should undertake serious study about three wheelers.
true it is a cheaper option for transportation.it has created some jobs for youth. but bad side is bigger than its good side. entire sri lankan transportation is slowed down to speed of three wheelers because roads are congested with three wheelers.
many youths are wasting their youthful life in road junctions without doing any productive work .parents buy them a three wheeler and send them to the nearest junction to wait for hires.
many road accidents caused by three wheelers.it is un safe. cause city pollution.
govt should appoint experts to study this to formulate a policy for three wheelers.
atleast to limit the number of three wheelers on roads.
