Political factor was most crucial in winning war.I personally believe that account for more than 95% of winning war.

Thought about what happened 10 years ago. A voting boycott in the north dragged the island back to the middle-ages for a decade. Hoped and prayed, really, really hard, this time their won't be a repeat and, voila, they voted with hands and feet. Island started moving towards the light of progression.
