Anyone Interested in AGM participation?

Hi Buddies

Any body here interest on participation of AGM ??

I have few question about entitling for AGM ??

01. Do we need to hold a particular share for entire one year or is there any specific day to entitle ?? How to find that day ?? Where we can notice them ??

02. What is the minimum share's should hold to entitle for AGM ??? do we need to hold 100 or even 1 share holder also can participate ???

03. What is the Best AGM that any have enjoyed

Juss to update my knowledge If any one can answer thn it would be great for unknown members and exiting members as well

1.NO. There is no such time period. You should have those shares when they call AGM.
2.With some companies you must have 100. But with others 1share would give you the permission.
3. Mahaweli Reach .. oh .. nice .. the best ever.

If i am not mistaken if you have more than 500 shares at Mahaweli Reach, they will take it to the hotel from colombo in a bus, all most all the hotels provide lunch to the shareholder if you have shares, the coupon you will get with the annual reports.

In personal opinion i was impressed by the AGM's headed by Mr. Ranjith Fernando ( recently was very famous because of the commercial bank ), he used to hold the AGM's in well decent manner and what ever questions asked by the shareholders answered very well

You also can attend the AGM's as proxy as well

I don't think so because i think they already send the annual reports to the share holders

01. How to find the date they call AGM ??? I hold PCH from IPO day last week i got the letter asking printed version or CD version .... so now i think im entitling for AGM of PCH ... where to find ??? (PCH is my INVESTMENT so i can keep them)

02. Where to find that which company need 100 & which need 1.. Bcz if i want to go for BUKI if i need 100 for this thn i may hv some kind of money juss idle

03. Do we need 500 shares for entitling Mahaweli Reach ?? if i bought 100 or below will myself ?? (Juss to see how it going to be )

Bcz i went REEF last year but it was only 10 minits .... or below than tht ... juss pass the resolutions and finish .... i was totally dissapointed with it

Apart from AGM participation new approvals from share holders like subdivision & other things how it going to be ??? Worth for going them ??

Sometimes they bring computers / printouts and check your name at the entrance from the shareholders list of previous day's closing.

Some companies give nice treats. Once Haylies gave a parcel of their products. SUGA always give 2kg of sugar. Dr Yaddehige (RICH family plantations) always gives packs of very good quality tea at Navinna. Finlays once took us to see their plantations in Ratnapura providing all the needs , transportation, food etc. GHLL - Galadari give coupon for lunch for 2 but you have to enjoy it not at AGM day.

If you are interested in food, I think you may surprise to see the behavior of some shareholders (= owners !) of our companies when they fight to grab many food plates as possible when they open the refreshment gates.

Actually there is a organized gang of 20 - 30 people who grab all the food and put them into bags they bring and vanish. Real shareholders who behave well go without any eating.
The stewards of the hotels know this and they keep few plates for the director board. Many of these bad people are not real shareholders , they buy 1 share from each company or get proxy forms from someone to attend the AGMS. Hence if you want to taste some food, run with the crowd, do not take your GF :-).

There are also well known 'speakers' of these AGMs. Some are showing their ability to analyze reports , find mistakes, etc. There is a ball polishing guy call Wijewiraya (may be not his real name) , always praise the management giving a big speech in Sinhala. you may hear others usually shout at him in order to stop his time wasting drama. It is a know secret that these guys use AGMs to become closer to the big people, ask many support from the managements and one fellow collected money from poor people arranging employments in the companies.

Lite - A torch.
Dial - Two 400/= recharge cards
Taj - Lunch
MRH - Lunch
Ghll - Lunch(You can sell those vouchers if you want)

Whc i tried one was worst for me ... ppl fighting for juss a pastry & coffee @ REEF AGM last year

But Chinwi if i bought today even do i entitle ??? CSE getting bit bored for me so trying somthng NEW

I m interested in CTC... big shareholders (perhaps over 100 shares)
get a milk tea and a packet of malborough...
Smaller guys get a plain tea and a packet of goldleaf!

DCSL... Big shareholder s get a bottle of Vodka... smaller guys get a
bottle of arrack..

That will be some AGM just saying!

Most of the people are talking about meals and other physical items.

Why can't we talk about some valuable stories, speeches made in those AGM's?

same way like to know if you hold any shares in a company weather we entitle for any thing. From where we can find this ???

I heard if you have a Asiri hospital shares they will give a discount from the bill and ATL shares will give the life insurance according to the share valve.

Hope it will be a additional advantage
