LIOC does not give any any indication to exit positions as per the chart, i am riding bullish and my advise is to BUY on DIPS ....

The LT bullish trend channel is in-tact..... towards 53/56 with further extensions

Govt. says subsidies prevent introduction of pricing formula for fuel

The government said yesterday that it was difficult to introduce a price formula for fuel prices without eliminating subsidies on diesel and kerosene. With the subsidies the two fuels were sold at a loss by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) at present.

Some trade unions have claimed recently that oil prices in the world markets including Europe, Singapore and West Asia had been reduced six times in the recent past, but the CPC did not pass on the reduced prices to the local consumers.

Minister of Petroleum Industries Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said that there had been no drop in oil prices in the world market.

He said that 2000 MT of petrol and 5,000 MT of diesel were needed for daily consumption. The CPC sold diesel at a loss, while petrol was priced only to cover its cost and the government taxes.

"We are selling diesel and kerosene at subsidised prices and if a price formula is to be introduced, we will have to remove it," Yapa said, adding that the CPC had been selling the two fuels at prices below the production cost. cheers

In India they are doing it and in stages removing the subsidy and have reduced .......... The share is trading in 3 digit numbers and their EPS & NAV must be checked for those interested traders Very Happy

probable scenario GOSL will implement it gradually after elections, either way oil price GOSL will do it. whilst oil price is low it was a foolish decision to reduce the oil prices where as MARA should have not played to the gallery, instead reduce the impact on government subsidy Laughing

Shark, good collection. Did you sell and buy back today or you bought earlier.

I have around 25000 shares and have no idea to sell less than 55/=. I'm not worried about short term fluctuations.

I'm planning to collect another 10,000 if the price drops below 43/=

I know the real value of this company. They are cash rich.
