Very likely considering what is going on inside the parliament right now. What impact it will have on the market. I think it is a big positive development because we could now look forward for appointing a government with good governance with development focus.

Everybody knows that parliament is going to dissolve. After election there will be government. We should not forget still presidential system is there. President also will rule the country for about five years. Parliament is just a selection of members. I already have estimation on election results just like I estimate future earnings for stocks. However this bull market is intact. It is normal to have volatility in stocks even in a bull market. Value investors have more opportunities in the market now. It is better to study crowd psychology and stocks discrepancies to identify great winners in the market. Good luck!

Now all signs for UNP + SLFP (MY3 Group) to be create a strong government with above 125 MP's.
There will not be changes, Mr. RW will become as a PM again.
So, Why Panic situation ?
Last 30 minutes I saw some bargain hunting for few stocks.
Even today JKH.N cash map also saw some positive buying presure.

In my view political stability and a stable economy in a peaceful environment are pre-requisites for sustaining an active stock market. Institutional & foreign investors expect this.

That is the very reason the business community has repeatedly wanted the dissolution of parliament and a general election at the earliest. B'cos as it is the economy lacks direction affecting the business sector.

In my opinion the national Government concept does not blend well with our political culture. Why go far, there is a no confidence motion against the PM already in the pipeline, President is performing a walk on tightrope. For how long can this go on?????

I think it should be sudden announcement may be in August and within the week or two they will have election. They have to complete 20th amendment as well.. By September there will be government. It is the responsibility of the politicians to form a government that they like. We should vote for the party that we like most. After that we should live peacefully. Because same human beings, same relatives and friends are working for different type of political parties. One thing I want to tell here: that this market will boom never before.
Majority will take both UNP and SLFP. Both are business friendly. Both parties have some intelligent politicians. JVP could become third force this time. I don't know what will happen to other small parties. I think their supports also will vote for above three parties this time.
