The New National Government of SLFP-UNP lead by Sirisena-Ranil will have 45 Cabinet Ministries 13 will be from SLFP and 4 will be given to SLFP Members who crossed to UNP (UNFGG) before 2015 General Election and Sirisena will most probably have 3 ministries under him apart from Presidentship and the rest will be for UNPers, the Ministers will sworn in Today!

According to sources Ranil will manage Finance, Economic Affairs, Policy Planning of the new National Government while 1/3rd of Finance Ministry including Treasury & Customs will be falling under Ravi Karunanayake whilst other 1/3rd including Securities and Exchange Commision, Colombo Stock Exchange, Central Bank will be under Ranil whilst Harsha de Silva will be the Deputy, Kabir Hashim will run the remaining 1/3rd including the State Owned Enterprises somewhere in between Eran also will fit in!

The swearing in ceremony of the new Cabinet of the National Government commenced at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, a short while ago.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was the first to take oaths as the Minister of National Policy and Economic Affairs before President Maithripala Sirisena.
In total 42 Cabinet Ministers including Wijedasa Rajapaksa and D.M. Swaminathan, who have already been appointed as ministers, were sworn in today.
Mangala Samaraweera took oath as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rajapaksa as Minister of Justice and Swaminathan as Minister of Rehabilitation on August 24 before the President.
Rajapaksa and Swaminathan received additional ministerial portfolios today.

This brings the current number of Cabinet Minister in the naitional government to 43.

probably the first time ever in history that culprits or failures of a previous regime are given a cabinet portfolio when there are so many eligible, honest and genuine candidates who could have done a better service towards the development of this country

LOOKING AT YOUR LIST nos. 4, 5, 6 8, 9, 17, 19, 33 and 34 should never have been on this list.

NOS 33 and 34 should be a shamed of themselves as they have not only deceived the country. but they have even deceived their previous leader, having seeing their activity in the past few months over the media it would have best if these two tied a stone around their neck and jumped into the sea.

What on earth is the present leadership doing, a new regime was voted as there was exceeding corruption, too many cabinet ministers for which you and I have to suffer to maintain and now we see no difference......is this a trap by RW and MS or is this demo crazy.
I feel as if I had wasted my vote. shame on us....we are the loosers

Which is why Ranil Wickremesinghe is dividing Finance Ministry tasks to 3 giving only part of it to Ravi Karunanayake! So that Ranil can play out with complicated financial models and rob leisurely in his 'Mr.Clean' outfit.
