don't buy @35 it will come down to 29/= very near that is a good point enter...may be in next February it will again hit 40/= you can have a 50% return

LIOC Net Assets will come down below 29/= by 31.12.2015 after payment of Supergain Tax, unlesss they earn a profit of Rs. 1,440Million during that quater.

Oil hits 7-year low, closes below $35.62

"The bearish IEA report has put further selling pressure on an already soft market. The back months have actually been hit a bit harder than the fronts as the report dispelled thoughts that a price recovery was on the not-too-distant horizon."
Brent crude futures slipped below $38 a barrel for the first time since December 2008. It was last trading at $37.94a barrel, down 4.5 percent.
Brent's session low was $37.36 — barely a dollar above the $36.20 hit during the financial crisis. If it falls through that, it will go to June 2004 lows, when it traded at around $34 a barrel.
WTI entered the $35 territory for the first time since February 2009. It settled at $35.62 a barrel, down 3.1 percent, or $1.14. WTI's financial crisis low was $32.40 in December 2008.
The market pared losses just slightly after data showing U.S. drillers cut the number of oil rigs operating in the country for a 14th week out of 15 to the least since April 2010.

Govt. get the benefit of oil price reduction ever time by increasing taxes on fuel. Govt. increases the tax per Ltr to absorb the benefit. It is very risky to invest in this sector.

Fuel prices could go down in near future - DAILY MIRROR ONLINE 2015-12-14

The government was looking into the possibility of giving some redress to the people in the wake of fuel prices going down in the global market. Minister of Petroleum Chandima Weerakkody said this in Parliament on Saturday 13th in response to a statement made by Chief Opposition Whip Anura kumara Dissanayake who urged the government to reduce fuel prices and allow the people to enjoy the benefits of oil price reductions in the global market. Mr. Dissanayake said a barrel of crude oil had come down to $ 46 from the earlier price which was $ 102. Minister Weerakkody explained that at present Sri Lanka purchases fuel on credit and it would have to pay an interest if the payments were delayed by more than a month. However, he said plans were afoot to make these payments in a shorter period of time, in which the benefit would be passed down to the people in the form of a fuel price reduction, he said. - See more at:

A one of most difficul task is to link the worl oil price and Financial Performance of LIOC. Thoug the world price droped to a significant law level company still making loss. There last 3 quarters perormace was very dissapointing. Even now also unsatisfactoty situation is continuing but goverment is not redy to incrase the price. From company side with CPC called for a price hike but govenment reply was totally diofferent. CPC Situation is different from LIOC. Thet are backed by goverment funds so no real impact due to loss making. Currently also government increased the PAL & other applicable import taxed leading to a considerable financial impact to LIOC. Now biggest challenge is the comming price reduction of Petrol & Diesel. Goverment is tring to restore the lost confidence on goverenment by reducing price on petrol & diesel. This will definitly lead to incease LIOC loss. Other comming challenges are the exchnage rate depriciation & USD INT Rate hike by US Goverment. USD depriciation will increase the landed cost of Petroleum in one side and other side will leade to increse the payable liability to oil suppliers leading to huge erxchnage loss. US rate hike will increse the USD borrwing rate & the supplier margin on product credit. This will leade to increase finance cost and product import cost. The impact wil be very very huge. Part of the impact will be able to identify by looking at the loss of comming quarter results Q3 2015_16. Definitly this impact will leade to make loss in Q4 also. It is wise to monitore the comming quatrters results.
