Expects growth above 7% with Chinese assistance & looks forward to tap Japan and South Korea for more investments.

CB Chief stated that a resilient China would be good news to a lot of countries including Sri Lanka and is confident of having a better picture by April.

Asian shares rally as G20 meeting begins. China's CB Chief stated that China has enough monetary firepower to keep economy on track. (The Island Financial review of Today).

Untiring efforts being made to bring investors into country are the major tasks faced by government. If this primary goal is successful country is out of bottleneck.

In my opinion finally it may be the Chinese funded bail out that will pull us out of trouble and NOT the IMF.

When the dragon sneezes the world catches a cold GOVT CONFIDENT OF OVERCOMING PROBLEMS BY APRIL Icon_lol  . Fortunately we being a smaller nation it was a mild attack, so an early recovery is possible.

In a recent interview the CB Governor clearly stated that 'we are not with a begging bowl at the IMF's door step'. Hence there must be a backup strength to make such a bold statement. May be the terms and conditions of Chinese assistance may be favorable to us than the IMF's.

An investment zone in Hambantota, the Megapolis project and the Port City presents a crucial opportunity for Sri Lanka to boost growth in a short period of time, the Central Bank Governor emphasised. - See more at: http://www.ft.lk/article/527911/CB-Chief-says-China-could-help-push-SL-s-growth-to-7-#sthash.j2IWH3i5.dpuf

Even though a better picture is expected in April, i believe that things ought to be much better in about 6 months time.

'WE ARE NOT GOING TO GO TO THE IMF WITH A BEGGING BOWL' - Sri Lanka's Central Bank Governor.

Remember the 'ASIA INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT BANK' formed by China last year with the active support of 57 nations to rival the World Bank.

I red the PM statement. In that statement he clearly stated under JR regime there was a 10 year tax holiday given to private investments in 1985 but when the government change they did not charge the respective taxes. He was insisting on activation of this tax. Not the capital gain tax that we are thinking.
