Udaya Gammanpila arrested by SIU
June 18, 2016 10:14 am

UPFA Colombo District Parliamentarian and Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader Udaya Gammanpila says he has been arrested at his office in Pagoda Road, Nugegoda.
The MP says that he is currently being taken to the Police Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
Gammanpila has been accused of using an allegedly fraudulent Power of Attorney to sell shares of a company while he had been questioned on several occasions by the SUI over this.
According to the complaint, the 4.1 million shares which is of Rs.110 million in value solely belonging to Australian businessman Brian Shadick had been fraudulently sold by Gammanpila.
SSP Mevan Silva of SIU stated that the UPFA MP was arrested based on a complaint with regard to defrauding shares of a company using a forged power of attorney.
Udaya Gammanpila will be produced at the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (18), he said.

It can go either way.

If this 19 year long incidence was a bogus creation to harass leading politicians in the opposition by ill-fated yahapalana Govt. then it will give bad impression.

Or else , if this is a clear case then it will boost confidence.

There are untold but very easy to find facts in this case.

I do not know why the police took so many months to do the arrest. They even have traveled to Australia to get statements spending public money.

1. Who bought the shares ? ( Mr. Gammanpila claim he bought them using same document behalf of the owner)
2. Who paid for the transaction ?
(If the foreigner paid that means the purchase was legal. As per news he has paid.)

3. After selling the shares who got the money?
If the money went to Gammanpila's account instead of the owner's account then he is trapped 100% and that is enough to send him to years in jail .

Then why they took such a long time for investigation. They can just refer broker data , bank details and find it .

4. If money went to owners account then there is no case . If the owner received money and no complain done for 19 years , that means the selling was done legally and was accepted by the owner.

The news report and statements from both parties are full of share selling stories but no one is talking about money transactions.

පුදුමේ කියන්නේ අපේ පොලිසියෙ මහත්වරු කංඩායමක් එහේ සංචාරය කරනව මිනිහ ව හොයාගෙන. ගිහින් කට උත්තර අරන් එනව. ඒක වැඩක් නැති බව තෙරිලා කලකට පසු නැවත වරක් යනව.
ගිහින් ඒ ඇටෝර්නි බලපත්‍ර යට සාක්කි අත්සන් කරපු කෙනෙක් ගෙන් කට උත්තර අරන් එනව.

එක සාක්කිකරුවෙක් කියනව තමන් අත්සන් කළ බව. පොලිසිය අනෙකා ගෙන් ප්‍රකාශයක් ගන්නව තමන් අත්සන් නොකල බව. ඒ ප්‍රකාශය තමයි කූඨ ලේඛන සැදීමට සාක්කියක් ලෙස ගේන්නේ.
ඒ අනුව චෝදනාව ගොනු කරනව. චෝදනාව තමයි ඇටෝනි බලපත්‍රය බොරු එකක් බව.

විත්තිකරු කියනව ඔහු කොටස් විකිණීමට නියෝග දුන්නේ කොටස් හිමියා දුන් සත්‍ය ලෙස පිලියෙල කළ ඇටෝර්නි බලපත්‍රයට අනුව බව. විත්තිකරු කොටස් අරන් තියෙන්නෙත් ඒ බලපත්‍රය මතමවීම විත්ති කරුට ඇති බලවත් වාසියක්. කොටස් හිමියට හොරෙන් කොටස් හිමියගෙ නමට කොටස් ගත්ත නම් ඇයි මිලියන් සිය ගානක් ගෙව්වේ ?

(අපට උනත් එලෙස ඇටෝර්නි බලපත්‍ර මත වෙන අයෙකුට කොටස් , ඉඩම් ගන්න විකුණන්න පුලුවන් . නමුත් කොටස් හෝ ඉඩම් ලියවෙන්නෙ නියම අයිතිකරු නමින්. මුදල් සංසරණය වෙන්නෙ නියම අයිතිකරු ගේ ගිණුම් වල. . අපට පුලුවන් ඔහු වෙනුවෙන් ඔප්පු වල අත්සන් කරන්න. )

මෙම කේස් එකේත් විත්තිකරු කොටස් මිලට අරන් තියෙන්නෙ තමන් ගෙ නමට නොවේ. මුදල් ගෙවු අයගේ නමට. එයත් විත්ති කරුගේ අවංක භාවය සනාථ කිරීමට වාසි සහගතයි.

දැන් මේ මහජන මුදල් වැය කරන්නෙ ලංකාවෙ රජය සතු දේපලක් හෝ ඔස්ට්‍රේලියා රජය සතු දේපලක් ගැන නෙවි.

කොහේවත් ඉන්න සුද්දෙක් මීට වසර 19 කට පෙර විකුණුවා කියන කොටස් ගැන එවපු ලිපියකට

මේ විත්ති කරු රජයට දේශපාලන වශයෙන් විරුද්ධ නායකයෙක් නිසා මෙම තත්ත්වය ඇති කර ඇති බව සැක කරන්න ඉහත සාධක බලපානව.

කෙසේ උනත් ගම්මන්පිලට පින් සිද්ද වෙන්න අපේ වියදමින් ඔස්ට්‍රේලියාවෙ ට්‍රිප් යන්න චාන්ස් නම් ලැබිල. රජය විසින් දරන රාජකරි වියදම් වලට අමතරව පුද්ගලික වියදම් සඳහා ගතකරන දිනයකට ඩොලර් 162 ක් වගේ ගානක් සබ්සිස්ටන්ස්පවා ලැබෙනව. මම හයිලයිට් කලේ ඒක.

Udaya Gammanpila is the biggest rouge in Sri Lanka.He has done many frauds and thuggery acts here.Rajitha senarathe,Vijith Vijayamuni Sozya ,Dr Mervin Silva ,Nimal Lansa ,Ravi Karunanayake ,Palitha Range Bandara are clean politicians.There are plenty of politicos who are clean.

Who walks naked ?

As per docs submitted to the Supreme Court Someone has promised to make payment to the Australian national when he land in Sri Lanka and they have paid for the air tickets too!.

If this revelation is true then Pa. cha waka's Hela Urumaya paid the foreigner to make false allegation against Gammanpila.

Let the court decide. No point harping about this.

The widespread robbing of this country did happen under MR,
Anyone denying that is the blind one. Whether these can be proven is difficult to say. At least this country is trying to be on a right path. Spitting at the change and crying out for more of the MR style thugs and low level thieves are very ignorant.

That said there are some scumfull good for nothing politician in this government as well, hope the people will have enough courage and fight to weed them out and make the January 8 revelation a long lasting success.

Chinwi, I hope your efforts should be to point out the crooks now rather than to whitewash the old crooks.

Topic is exctaly correct. This incident has been a very good step for boosting the foreign investor confidence for last few days.Since his arrest market has gone up by several hundreds of points and foreigners have become net buyers. If we go by statics it is proved.

I do not think action against Gammanpila is on political groundsPolice has sufficient eve dance to take legal action

Chadrika did not took any action Against UNP Politicians during 1977-94

Our duty is encourage govt to take action Then future govt also will take action against corrupt politicians of this govt
