Brexit petition passes 2.5 million as demand for second EU referendum grows
Political experts have expressed doubts that a second vote will take place
More than two and a half million people have signed a petition demanding a second EU referendum after an MP called for Parliament to refuse to ratify Brexit.
Signatories are calling for a new rule to be implemented stipulating that polls on the European Union with a majority under 60 per cent and turnout under 75 per cent must be re-started.

We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum.

Media has given too much attention to this Brexit Drama.

Is UK going to declare war against EU? (If they are going to have war then we have to worry and should invest in basic things. Forget about luxury stocks) I don’t think so.

Instead both regions will try to explore new trade deals globally as well as between them.

Now some analysts globally will come up with new reports and will advise us to buy post-brexit stocks. Already they are talking about post-brexit opportunities even in the UK.

Gentlemen, Please remember long before BREXIT our so called Yahapalana Govt had performed the last rites to CSE. Hope you got the message.

UK is yet to start negotiations with the future deals with the EU, and they have 2 years for this as per article 50.
Some are worried that EU will put up barriers or make it difficult for UK to have deals with EU to set an example for other EU nations thinking of leaving like UK.

Nicola Sturgeon in SHOCK EU THREAT: Scotland could BLOCK UK's exit from EU by VETOING IT

SCOTTISH First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned she will tell politicians to veto the decision to leave the European Union when it comes to Holyrood.

Brexit petition passes 2.5 million as demand for second EU referendum grows Sturgeon-683485GETTY
Nicola Sturgeon has threatened to vote against any legislation taking Britain out of the EU
The SNP leader said she would tell her MSPs to refuse "legislative consent" if and when when the Scottish Parliament was required to ratify the UK's withdrawal from the bloc.

Speaking to the BBC she said: "If the Scottish Parliament was judging this on the basis of what's right for Scotland then the option of saying look we're not to vote for something that's against Scotland's interest, of course that's got to be on the table."

Scotland voted overhwelmingly in favour of staying within the EU in Thursday's referendum, by 62% to 38%.

Ms Sturgeon has already said a new referendum on Scottish independence was "on the table" and that she would "seriously caution" anyone in Westminster who tried to block a second ballot.

The First Minister has repeatedly claimed that Scotland has been taken out of the EU "against its will" and has annonced several plans to stay in the bloc.

They include immediate discussions with Brussels about potentially remaining a member fof the EU even after the rest of the UK withdraws.

However, a briefing note sent out to MEPs ruled out a "partial withdrawal' from the EU, saying part of a country "cannot...remain in the EU if the members state itself withdraws".

That would suggest Scotland would first need to vote to leave the UK, adopt the Euro and form a border with England.

But speaking on the Andrew Marr show, said: "We are in unchartered territory.

"I certainly don't want to see in any circumstances a border between Scotland and England.

"England is our nearest neighbour and will always be, I hope, be our best friend."

Those comments were in contrast to an earlier attack on Westminster and the vacum of leadership that has opened up following David Cameron's resignation and the Labour party's apparent self-implosion.

Ms Sturgeon said: "I think what's happening in Westminster is shameful. For Leave campaingers who have put us into this position now saying there's no urgency to get on with it is just inexplicable.

"For the Government, for Labour, for people who have a responsibility to try to lead the UK through this difficult set of circumstances - to be completey abdicating that responsibility is frankly unforgivable."

She also issued a stark warning to Westminster not to try and block a second Scottish referendum if Holyrood had approved it.

Brexit: EU says 'no need' for UK to send formal letter to trigger exit process
EU leaders are anxious that the Brexit process should start rapidly following the UK’s referendum, which resulted in a vote to leave the union and the subsequent resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron, who had led the remain campaign

  • Google reported a 250% spike in searches for the phrase before 5.30am

Good and valid point.

They can go like this forever.

3 million is nothing. When 48% voted to remain they can find more millions to sign the petition from them.

Nothing Surprise 16 Million People said REMAIN in the election ...
