It is pathetic to see why no one want to touch ''CSE'' and day by day many dumping and exiting. Small investors waited 2015 and 2016 and now 1m getting over in 2017 but nothing significant happening or even in the horizon. All world markets have risen tremendously and continues to date like no tomorrow. Our local analysts says TPP / Trump protectionism and FED rates are negatives but these are never factors for Global markets rise. Now no longer drought in SL where earlier CBSL cautioned might impact growth and do not know when this 'curse' or nightmare going to end.

Rising interest rates is a major worry for the equity investor. Right now we can place 1Yr investment in a TBILL and get 10.37% risk free return which is also tax free. So why do people or institution should risk there money in CSE?
In 2014 1Yr TBILL rate was around 6.5%, where some shares dividend yield was more than that. So people were attracted to equity more than now.

Current investment climate is also a joke in our country. Now Rajitha is saying that $75Mn project is on hold when PM is saying it's not. Champika and Rajitha is saying we're going to probe this investment which was approved without BOI approval. This is a big JOKE right now. President is just silently waiting without doing anything. We voted for that idiot to take a leadership role but now hes acting as a bystander.

SL was not included in TPP. If TPP was launched, planned TPP member countries like Vietnam would have had an extra competitive edge over SL on similar products to the US. SL is fortunate that TPP didn't materialize so the status quo is unaffected, our competitiveness hasn't further eroded. TPP would have given trans pacific countries a similar advantage to the US just as SAFTA members have with SAARC countries. We can see how India exports to SL went up afterwards.
