It can be, but not at this price. DPL is a good brand with good product, they need a change the way they do the business, and need to down size the company. Until that happens stay away from this.

There are many good companies in the market, focus on them.

That depends on how you interpret it. DPL traded above 70 due to heavy manipulation with other ERI group stocks before the market decline start. If i'm not mistaken DPL had some management and financial issues on recent past. I haven't went trough their financials recently.

You Better analyze their financials and announcements thoroughly before invest on long term for any share.

However on the same sector there are some solid stocks like RCL you can invest on long and mid term which is a better performing company than DPL.

This is a trading stock. When the market activity is high the prospects for this share is high. When the activity is low, no demand for the share. Friday we had a considerably active day. There was lot of interest for the share on Friday. NAV is Rs.9.50. Reported loses during last three quarters. 52 week lowest was reported on 16th Nov. 2011 which is Rs. 22.50 and highest price recorded for the year is Rs.89.90.

Positive factors are will benefit from the US GSP+ scheme and there are some expectations that there will be some benefits for the export oriented manufactures in the upcoming budget. I think because of the latter reason it draws some interest on Friday.

DPL should gets direct benefits from recent electricity reduction. That will help to reduce the costs significantly.

As I have been heard, electricity reduction has been given to the domestic uses not for the industrial uses. The gazette was published yesterday.

I also think DPL is a long term share, Current price level is very attractive.But we can't recognize bottom of this share prices as stock market crisis. How ever waiting & buying .
DPL is a member of Greg family. We can expect variances whole the year. Already i have DPL @ 14.00.

Agree with equitychamp. We cant satisfy with financials. The net profit margin as low as 1%. We sell some thing worth 100/- but our net profit is around 1 rupee. Its a very poor return. When consider with cash flow looks negative too. No dividend can expect near recently.also looks the company unable to utilize their 1,500 employees efficiently. The plus point is the share is trading below its asset value in the market & public holdings are very few.
