Asiri Hospital Holdings PLC engages in the operation of hospitals, provision of health care services and management of investments in the healthcare industry. It operates through the following segments: Pre-Care, Post-Care, and Pharmaceutical. The Pre-Care segment includes outpatient department (OPD) revenue, channeling revenue and OPD lab investigation services. The Post-Care segment consists of all inpatient department (IPD) revenue including inpatient drugs and lab investigation. The Pharmaceutical segment covers OPD pharmacy revenue. The company was founded on September 29, 1980 and is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Rumor is about a deal that is going to happen at a higher price! Wait and see, I don't think it's safe to buy now at the top! It's very risky, see the volatility! But considerable quantities even at top! We might get a chance to trade on this tomorrow!

There was a news alert on a ban imposed by health ministry on referring lab tests to private labs when the facilities are available in government hospitals. But not sure how this will have a positive impact Question

. May be thinking people will go directly to private hospitals due to the delays of tests in government hospitals Idea

Reference to private laboratories, prohibited Tuesday, 23 August 2011 13:33
The referring of patients to private sector laboratory tests by government hospitals has been prohibited by Mithripala Sirisena the Minister of Health, today with immediate effect.

The relevant circular will be issued in the next couple of days by the Director General of Health Dr. Ajith Mendis. He also said that the relevant circular will be issued in the next couple of days. (SAJ)

The Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena is seen at a laboratory at the Colombo National Hospital today.

shl holds 45% and last year public holding has been 49%
this year it has increased in to 50%
so if shl gets 5% theyll be the ultimate controller of asir
are thier any developments.....
or is thier a new kid who wants the stake of control from mr pathirage..i dont think so......
thier should be some solid reason....i observed the buyer couldn absorb the large amount of selling pressure..he stopped at a certain level..i m not sure whter the colection has finished or not.....but we will hear a corporate disclosure very soon.........should check for a trading tomorrow

Be very very careful with this one. Public shareholding is 445 million. 2 rupee up is a huge gain to big shareholders. Big shareholders would get the news of upside by tomorrow, then we ll see what happen.

If that buyers intention was to manipulate the prices and get a huge return, then he has got in to the wrong counter, ASIR has a public holding of 445,429,750 or 50% of issued shares as at 30 June 2011. Anyways buyer today was very aggressive and yes finally he gave up, if not he might have bought the quantity he needed!
