Even though I am not an expert, my sentiment is shared by the experts in the field. It needs to be a gradual process and not an ad hoc move.

Ban of chemical fertilizers is a great news - Page 2 1f600  Ban of chemical fertilizers is a great news - Page 2 1f600  Ban of chemical fertilizers is a great news - Page 2 1f600  The person u mentioned is a biology teacher nothing more nothing less. Ask him about football, he will tell u his view. Asking about politics, he will tell u his view. He is entitled to have his own opinion. But that does not make him an expert in the subject field. Person who's quoted in the news paper seemed to know a thing or 2 more about organic fertilizer than the biology lecturer.

Once again apples and oranges.

He is not asking to stop banning it. He is asking to do it gradually. He holds a doctorate in Organic fertilizer so one would argue he knows a thing or two and is only asking to do it gradually. Lets not talk about payrolls and who is in it and who is not. Cos thats a whole new can of worms altogether  Ban of chemical fertilizers is a great news - Page 2 1f600  Ban of chemical fertilizers is a great news - Page 2 1f600  Ban of chemical fertilizers is a great news - Page 2 1f601

Is this the primary reason why CIC crashed recently? Crop yields in tea sector will be effected quite badly.

Well, at least professionals in the subject field is trying their best to make a voice against ad hoc measures. It's the responsibility of those who are in power to heed their call instead of going for cheap heroism and propaganda. The writer of the below article is a Professor of Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya not an A-LEVEL BIOLOGY TEACHER!!!!

Bada kese wethath, Baya wenna deyak naha wede hariyata karoth. but ad hoc moves could only make it worse. I guess we all agree that organic food culture is best going forward. But proper planning and implementation needs to be done prior taking drastic measures such as complete ban on chemical fertilizer.

If it's well planned and implemented as a national policy, we could at least hope to be successful in achieving said goals. But just by doing things as per one person's will or what he saw in his dreams over night could not only have adverse impact in near future but also when a future government would truly plan and commit to a such program, the farmers and other stake holders will not take it seriously sighting the failures of the previous attempt. So if they do it, might as well plan and implement it stage by stage within a decade or so rather than print gazettes overnight only to reverse them back in few weeks like what we have seen in recent past. We got enlightened on the Organic Food suddenly after the impact  Corona Virus had made to us as an inefficient Nation . That is also because we went out of Dollars in Government coffers. So rather admitting the administrative inefficiency and blunders they are talking about Organic Foods.

Did we have a plan of converting to Organic practices, Research, Education and everything systematically brought in to the minds of people through the education system.

Our Governments and the rulers are more happy showing more tele dramas based on vengeance than building a quality Nation.

Only a Organic mind can think of Organic

This is exactly my point. Systematical implementation is missing from this bold move. It's like even though government wanted to make an action movie, at the end it will end up being a disastrous comedy.
