The CARG is having upside potential due to another takeover, probably a soft liquor manufacturing unit. The announcement id due for a while, but informed sources revealed the transaction would be closed soon. this was initially leaked via Bottom line newspaper in October'2010.

Cargills (CARG) have been looking at Three Coins Beer Company for sometime now, but question remain whether they would able to compete with Lion Brewery (LION) in a competitive offers. Lion Brewery wants to buy the company and kill the brand so that there wont be anymore competition for them. Cargills have different plans.

But the problem with Three Coins is that they have a huge debt to DFCC Bank and unsorted tax issues. Buyer will have to buy the assets, brand names and the licenses separately. Legally this is a tough job. On top of the asking price had gone up to US$ 16mn which is well below the tangible asset value.

Lets see who will get to the finish line first!

Thanks for the information and different opinions ok leave the Acquisition of this Beer Company. I am not much aware of their business other than Supermarkets

So will highly appreciate whoever have any idea about their other business please share with me

We know that CARGILLS has now got LAMB in its bosom and all that..

People's life style has changed much and now even the villagers, sub-urban people patronize the place due to the 20% discount offered during certain times of the days.

Keels is getting cheesed off as a result. Cargills has more outlets than any other Supermarket chain.

What have you to add to the Pro's and Con's of the matter?
