Helloo im new to this Online Trading .. My broker is Asia Securities and they gave me a username and a password for web site (https://www.asiasecurities.lk/AsiaSecurities/homePage.f?method=homePage)

1.. **Could any one give me complete instructions how to sell and buy shares online .. ? **

2. What does these mean ?

* Board - Oddlot , normal

*Order Type - Limit , market

*Disclosed Quantity

*TIF -day , Immediate or cancel , Fill or Kill

3. Can i download a Desktop Version of This Direct FN ? And is the User interface the same

Market type -

Orders can be placed (quantity) in multiples of units called ticks (usually 100). You choose normal market for these types of orders.
If Order quantity is not exactly a multiple of 100 (tick size), then it needs to be traded in Odd-lot market.

I think this is just a logical thing. not sure such thing really exist.

Order Type -

Stock price is decided by trader - Limit order
In market orders order is traded at the current price of the market and user does not specify the price value when order is placed.

Disclosed Quantity - If you have a large quantity to trade but you don't want to show others the total quantity you can split it in to chunks called disclosed quantity. Only one chunk at a time will be displayed in the order book.

TIF (Time in force)

day - Order is valid until trading day ends.

Immediate or cancel - Execute the order immediately if matched, else cancel the order

Fill or Kill - If you want your order to completely filled at once but not partially filled you can specify this.

sell and buy

Buy at ur own risk,after watching the stocks carefully, sell at ur margin,don't br greedy..

forum is filled with experiences,experiments,predictions.. refer them also..

Rather than through the above link, I think much better if you can download the Direct FN soft ware and log.

I use DirectFN TWS, but not through the website.
Actually I didn't know that I can login through the website using the same username/password. I just tried and was able to logged-in.

If we can do the same (online trading) through the website without much difficulty, I will move to that (website) as it can be accessed from any place (home/office/mobile/sybercafe..etc) at any time, without installing the software!

Can somebody explain me is there any difficultty (than alternative route), if I choose access through the website, insted of logging through the software installed??

Yes MoneyLover, there are less options / features available in the web based system compared to software. There logging through the software is the better option.

1.Please elaborate ur question.
2.Usually logging through software is faster.
3.Do not do that as sometimes those orders get stucked in the system then u can not even place a new order till the problem solved. This has happened to me.
