I used to receive Ada Derana updates on my mobile. Today they sent cricket score and at the bottom there was an advert saying that subscribe for CIFL IPO and the closing date also was mentioned.

It seems that the authorities are highly worried that there will be an under subscription for CIFL and using all the tools to promote.

But I strongly believe that we can get this share much cheaper on the first day after they list. My new strategy is to buy it on the first day of trading and on the subsequnt days the directors will push the price as it causes a reputation risk for the entity.

Hmm good idea dineshfernando, if all are stick to that idea, these companies have to price their IPOs at an attractive price, not over valued. VONE and SHL set a good example so we can buy at a bargain price in the CSE rather than vasting our time and making our money stuck in their accounts. Cheers cheers

Although its a good idea, what will happen after 1 hr of trading on first day ? Due to the high demand, the bidding quantity will be several times higher than asking quantity. So the share price will go up to the issue price due to competetion among bidders.

VONE is a well priced IPO considering its latest acquisitions before the IPO!! Also VONE did trade at 40% gain at the start and still trading over 25% gain to the IPO price!!

I got several calls from CIFL and they have sent me IPO application to my home even. This guy is so curious whether I invest in this and how much I am going to invest......

As you guys say, they are really worried that this IPO will get under subscribed....

My experience also something similar to this;

I advertised my car in Autolanka and sold it, CIFL people have taken my contact number from that advertisement and chasing behind me asking to deposit that money. Now they are keep on calling and asking me to buy their share at the IPO and saying that it will go to Rs.22/-

No

Same here! I got 2 calls from CIFL, 1 is asking for my money for their FDs, and de other is for their IPO scratch .! I think CIFL has hired some guyz to promote their IPO. It wont happen if they put a lesser price.To make the situation worse, they've entered in the worst time. Anywayz, it's interesting to see what will happen in the opening day and first trading day!
