LGL looks very attractive at current price levels. At present price levels it has a forward PE of 10 which is a attractive PE for a growth stock. Also, it looks like it is forming a strong base around 50's.

Would you elaborate on how do you arrive at this figures?
LGL is a good company and running as a business by a businessman
Good company doesn't necessarily become a good stock!

Q3/EPS - 1.23, Annualised - 4.92, P/E - (50/4.92=10.2)
Agreed with your comments, always good companies are not the best investments. Most of the time we experience that good companies prices get adjusted so fast that the potential investors needs to identify the stock pretty early to make a good capital gain.

I agree with invest abc. I consider LGL as one of the stocks which has a potential growth. It is a good buy at current price level.

Since LGL is listed under P&E sector which PE is 60.30, if we try to forecast the value, at a EPS of 1, still its undervalued.. Laughing Then it is hilarious if you talk abt a EPS of 4 rite? ;-)

I think there should be some logical theory behind this to calculate future value of these kinda stocks.. any ideas guys?

Guys this is not to discouragement ok? just for learning purpose.. LGL is to me is a long term investment and I see a lot of potential with it.. But I still wanna know how to evaluate this in terms of fundamentals..

Yes, PER is not "Kokatath thayle". It's applicability is extreamly limited due to difficulty in comparing thebusiness. Generally, Utility compnaies with sort of stable earnings are valued using DDM in international markets. However, since LPG business is Sri lanka in just in the growth stage, it's better to use DCF approach. There are no readily available comparision in the sector.

PE is only a small part of the story...there are many more aspects to look at when we are doing a detail valuation or an analysis. However, irrespective of the industry PE is one of the most widely used indicators to identify relatively undervalued counters. However, we need to be mindful that lower PE doesn't always mean its a good investment. But in terms of LGL with it's expected rapid growth simple logic suggests that it's a value investment in current overheated market.
