In terms of the SEC directive dated 14th September 2010, the 10% price band has been imposed on EAST.N.0000, OGL.N.0000 & TAFL.N.0000 with effect from 02nd August 2011 to 08th August 2011 (both days inclusive).
The full list of securities on which the 10% price band is applicable is published on the CSE website.

we are regulated by only theoritical rulers. why OGL came down, because of that crossing. when the market price is in 30s. crossing going in 20s. how can it happen. so what they done. so simple to them. mmmmm price band. to me it is not the correct answer. did they think about invertors who bought between 25-35. never. they should take actions to avoid this type of dealings. but they are doing nonsense.

what happen to TAFL, panic selling. who created that. Mr M.

they do not know to take currect action on currect time. see no price band on friday to gran or tafl. so they have given confident to investors. then given foolish statement to papers. how bad they are??????????????????????????????????????????

You are quite write. I thought the price band is imposed when a price of a stock increases to unrelaistic figure. But now it is not so. Sorry for who ever who bought this share at higher levels. Now from here we do not know what will happen to the price of this share. I do not know how long for the person who bought this stock at its peak today will have to wait for him to achieve at least a break even position. Will it be reasonable for this guy? How fair the Price band for him and other similar victims?

As per the daily report there is no crossing of OGL (there is 3 crossings of GUAR, NDB and JKH) but there is a big chunk traded (39628411 of shares ) at 21.50. at 1.43 pm. According to LBO it is a negotiated deal, where PCH holding bought it from Finco group (http://www.lbo.lk/fullstory.php?nid=55270924).

anyway trading statistics of CSE indicate last trade as 21.80 (down 12.80) but daily report of CSE says last trade was at 33.90 and down 70 cents

please let us know who is this Mr M

The closing price of OGL today is VWA price calculated by CSE considering all trades taken place within the last hour of trading. This is applicable for all shares and has been applied for sometime now.

This is why the closing price of OGL is Rs. 21.80 despite the last trade was as high as 33.90. The reason for closing price to be that low is that huge crossing at Rs. 21.50 within the last hour.

Somehow this has now been imposed a price band, possibly due to closing price is that low with high volume. So tommorow, we might see this increasing by 10% and continue that trend until price stabilize.

As some others pointed out above, this a pathetic situation that needs to addressed by regulators and avoid in future.

Friends,

How can they impose price band for TAFL at this level? It went above Rs.200/- few months ago.
