In Yesterday trading also,Foreign buying over took the selling,resulting a high net selling. Foreign purchases amounted to LKR128.73 mn (USD1,175.5 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR429.5 mn (USD3,922.5 k).

What does this mean?

This could be a reason to why some of the blue chips have come down a lot, I was aware that a few foreign parties had to force sell their stakes in JKH, BROWNS and I think SPEN and AHUN (can't remember if this was mentioned). Not a lot of shares but definitely a few hundred thousand.

Foreign does not necessarily mean institutional or big investors so they could very much still be like us... with more money.

Open economic policy seeks & invite foreign direct investments, foreign loans & foreign market portfolio. Well balancing structure of those would lead to a economic development as long as they are utilized efficiently & to the interest of the country. This is the part which has been missing for a long time.

actually we should get this as a positive trend,now little by little we are venturing to our own market,we sow last week huge upward trend by defeating foreign net cash out flow,you have to understand "this is the time of the end of supper powers & rise of the new giants"

It these selling taking in to national account under direct investment. If that so will have some impact to our national account in 2011.

Whether they are taken in to NA or not the Impression is not good.Lots of foreign investments have been done,specially on Blue chip companies. We need to maintain a healthy liquidity in CSE,so we need foreign participation as well.
