CTLD is the most attractive next is CSD. CTLD trades at a discount to it's book value and favourable P/E ratio as well, and it is also a dividend payable counter. Rs. 0.60 last time. They are on the move to build another 3 cinemas making it a multiplex cinema consisting 4 movie halls will make it a premier entertainment and shopping mall. Their land value will increase significantly in coming years due to expected property sector boom and strong demand for prime lands in Colombo

CTLD is good but nothing give out only .60 cents dividend every year so wt can we expect from other than that. If so it will be a good share

Do other counters ever give even 1 cent dividend. Reason is simply they are not generating enough profits from their properties. Now CTLD is building 3 new cinemas and is internally funded as they got significant profits and remainder will be covered by debt. In long run this will create value.compare this with P/E of EAST,CLND or even CSD

PS. I'm holding CSD,CFLB,CTLD

If you look at their financials properly, CSD is not a profit making company. But i've heard from somewhere about an asset revaluation. so anything can happen

Now CSD is massively worth compaire to property sector other shares.

EAST & CLND are trading 04 times of it's NAV.

If we value same to CSD, it is worth more than Rs.120/= now.

Assume that, 02 times, Then CSD to be trade at least Rs.60/=.

Be patient, CSD will start rally very soon.

But, my dought is Mr.Dhammika/Nimal perera (I think) controlling this share at this level.

yes. those two are controlling with hidden orders. I also posted regarding this but there is no one brave enough to even put a single comment. another thing i must say, what happen to dealing by directors, (N Perera). because of inside dealings those are minimized, & they are manipulating other stock. I think LHCL also thire game. They will touch CSD too.

We all are talking more about CSD these days,
yes this is undervalued counter
Are we in wrong side??? or wrong timing
can we think against crowd???

As per past experience, when we talking more & more about undervalued ones, they were declining or stag, but some crap shares sky rocketing.

Reasons
1. we are not HNWI, to make money need to pump money.
2. we don't have reliable source or insider info, we used to get info from broker or news, can we trust all?

So just to get things straight are you recommending we buy overvalued counters as opposed to undervalued counters?
I am guessing this might be the right time to jump into CSD since they have started making profits after a long time. I cannot actually recommend it since I haven't done careful analysis of the share.

Thinking of doing some research and seeing the possibility of entering it since it at least seems to be in a growth stage.

Speculative morning

The brief rally that took place in the morning was led by the highly speculative shares including Colombo Land & Develpment (CLND), Pan Asia Power (PAP), Seylan Development PLC (CSD), Lanka Hospitals (LHCL) and East West Properties (EAST). Being the top contributor, CLND contributed Rs.1.4 billion to the day’s turnover.

23.8 million CLND shares traded during the day at an average price of Rs.58.90. The share opened at Rs.54 and high for the day was Rs.64.80.

For the day CLND share was up by Rs.15 or 30.8 percent while it closed at Rs.64.1. However it was surprising to see how CLND escaped the regulator’s 10 percent price band. CLND has 199.9 million shares in issue.

CLND made a net profit of Rs.73,000 during the three months to June 30 2011 compared to Rs.2.43 million in June 2010. Subsequently, the company had made a loss of Rs.5.9 million for the six months ended June 2011 compared to Rs.3.7 million a year ago.

Company’s revenue for the first six months of the year has also decreased from Rs.44.94 million in 2010 to Rs.43.12 million this year whilst the Earning per Share had reached negative 3 cents from positive 2 cents over year ago whilst Net Asset Value (NAV) per share had risen from Rs.16.28 to Rs.16.65 as result of asset value shooting up from Rs.2.7 billion to Rs.3.4 billion this year.
