Gaja,
In my experience the most solid laptop are made by DELL. I have gone through many dells from USA, Right now the one I working on is a US dell bought in 2007 with no issues.

If you can find one that is made to US/Euro markets they have better quality control.

Toshiba used to make good laptops a decade or so ago. Not the best now in my opinion.

Dell is best but HP is fairly ok. Anyway main factor is as slstock has mentioned to which market they have produced it. Products produced for US and EUROPE market are the best.

slstock,
Both Dell and Toshiba are now manufacturing in China. Isn't it? I have a Toshiba bought last year. So far no problem. But I also heard that Dell is the best.

That is to reduce the labour cost. In China they produce both good quality ones and less quality ones which are cheap. It is difficult to differentiate these two products by looking at them. But goods produced for usa and europian market are in good quality.

Kam,

Yes, actually most of the laptops are manufactured in China due to less cost. Most US manufactures outsource now. But the fact remains that though manufactured in China they have to stick to stringent quality control to meet US/Euro markets. Like burn in tests. ELse they get rejected. Quality control is what makes the difference.

Also if you notice is is true to certain cars which are made to Asian and US/Euro markets.

Ya.Ya. You are correct. China is like that. They maintain the quality depending on the market. Usually products supplied to USA/EURO markets need to be complied with high quality standards.

HP is cheaper and u may have extra options for the money but if you buy DELL its a hardy one where you can carry on outings..
Also ASUS is another one u might want to look at - rock solid heart touching as the brand implies.. Wink

Toshiba used to be good but I dont go for it now a days..

Whether its coming from China doesn't matter DELL is good and uif u can bring down a Europe made one with international warranty ur lucky..

Try the warranty options as well - some brands may give u international 3 years while others only 1 year..

Very true! Abans guarantee is more powerful. You can buy the newest core i5 laptop @ 96,000. very attractive. (If you plan to pay as terms, the last price is 100,000 with the interesting)

Very Happy

I purchased a Chinese Toshiba laptop and used it for over 2 years. I didn't have any issues though it's a Chinese product. Then I again I purchased a HP Pavillion (Chinese made) in late 2009. Still I am using that. So far I didn't have any issue.

If money is not a big factor, I would go for Dell. If you are concerning about money, go for HP.

Never Ever buy Toshiba.
