IIASL, the Institute of Internal Auditors – Sri Lanka appointed the Academy of Finance as their first approved training partner in Sri Lanka recently with the objective of offering the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Certification to Sri Lankan internal audit professionals, a qualification held by over 100,000 professionals around the world. CIA is the only globally accepted designation for internal auditors and the standard by which individuals demonstrate their competence and professionalism in internal auditing.
IIA is the global professional body for auditing and risk professionals and currently present in 165 countries with over 170,000 members. Established in 1941, IIA is an International professional association with global headquarters in USA. Throughout the world, the Institute is recognised as the leader in internal audit professional certification, education, research and technical guidance.
“IIASL was established in 2005, with the objective of serving and uplifting the internal audit professionals and internal audit industry in Sri Lanka, we are delighted to appoint the Academy of Finance as our first training partner and confident that this would be a significant step forward in our objectives” noted Dharshana De deleted – President IIA – Sri Lanka
IIASL, the Sri Lankan body of IIA held its fourth national conference on 15 November 2011 at Kings’ Court, Cinnamon Lakeside under the theme of “Strategies for Internal Audit Excellence”. Eminent business professionals made presentations and insightful panel discussions at the conference. On this day, the Academy of Finance was officially appointed as the first training partner to offer CIA Certification Programme in Sri Lanka.
“We are confident that this internationally recognised qualification offered first time in Sri Lanka will be a competitive edge for the auditing and risk professionals to master their own sphere of work, and also be a catalyst to climb the corporate ladder” said Kapila Dodamgoda – Managing Director of the Academy of Finance. “The course will commence in January 2012” he further added.
The Academy of Finance (AOF) – “The Gurus of Financial Wisdom” is the pinnacle of years of sharing and imparting of knowledge to create a financial knowledge sharing engine for the expert as well as the apprentice.
AOF was established in 2008 with a vision of training and enriching non-finance professionals to become finance savvy and appropriately qualified in finance, whilst providing specialised development opportunities and higher qualifications for finance professionals.
With this fresh agreement with IIASL, AOF now has partnerships with a portfolio of international professional bodies specialising in the areas of accounting and finance, management accounting, investment management and internal auditing and risk management, mostly on an exclusive basis. These include the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (Australia) and the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments – CISI (UK). The company has also exclusively partnered with the Asia e-University to deliver their fully accredited MBA programme through the sister company.http://www.ft.lk/2011/11/24/iiasl-appoints-academy-of-finance-as-training-partner/#more-57674
