PLC IPO was oversubscribed..So all investors who couldn't get the amount they requested should be happy to buy in open market for 18.00 or much higher price like 18.10 or 18.20.
I am also interested to know the reason for selling at lesser price.

To all investors

I think this is a good case study. Can't we all contribute and find the reasons for this IPO to go below IPO price. It will improve our knowledge in investing.

To my knowledge there were no Private Placements here.

The shares given to employees for free were all taken back I think.

So only reason I think is People who bought at IPO price have sold below Rs. 18/=. Rational may be to collect at much lower prices.

There were rumors that employees were forced to buy from IPO. And they were given loans up to Rs. 2.0 M from a private bank. So there is an interest cost too. So these guys may have sold at a loss.

What do you all think?

Is there any other hidden reason which we haven't come across?

Because this company was a subsidiary of People's Bank, the employees unions of the said bank were not happy about this company going public with IPO and employees of PLC getting free shares. So they may have reversed what was given. There were lot of paper articles about this where Bank Unions were up in arms against this IPO.

Just 1.12% of IPO traded today. If remove day-trading actual percentage may be around 1%. If we assume only retailers and employee (bought from IPO) sold today, it is 7.66% of total shares allocated for them. If we assume only retailers (excluding employees) sold today it is 12.61%. It is reasonable to assume many employees didn't sell due to two reasons.
1. Employees have to cover interest on loan
2. According to current behavioral finance theory, employees show over confidence on their employer's shares. So they hold on.

I think one and only one reason to the price below IPO is liquidity of the shares which will make most of our fool traders (so called investors) going into panic scene due to the prevailing situation.
If the price comes down slightly that will affect ASPI also.

Yes These so called investors should never come back to the market. Its just wasting their time.

Is it this hard waste money/time? Ex Open accounts , filling forms, meeting so called brokers. etc..

Try to find a lighter and start burnin money at home. Mad
