AM not sure whether it is appropriate to go on about who is brighter and give preference to only universities in one province ;-)

Anyway, to me the brighter ones are not the ones who only have keen sense to figure out technical, mathematical or theoratical things and limit to the book knowledge. The brighter ones are those who has developed good humane qualities along with their education and skills and knows how to fit into society with responsibility and without means of intimidation , showing off, and disregard to other fellow humans while attaining their career objects.

Degree is only a piece of paper. It is not only the few years of Uni education that molds a human being. I believe there is much to life and learning.

Sometimes people without degrees are better humans and more successfull in life. We should not disregard them.

I mean no insult to anybody.

You know why I do (trade)?

One reason is that
when it comes to evaluation, there is no subjectivity at all. This is 100% objective evaluation method (unlike in your job, or in Uni exams etc)
At the end of the day, you know it black an white; whether you are bright or not so.
You can argue with your boss but not with the market. Market is always right (not the boss)

Is there any (Bright) Engineering graduate who has made an overall profit between Feb 2011 and Feb 2012 here?
If yes, How much as a %?

If not, any other graduate?

If still not,
All graduates are no brighter than average!

Friend...

I have overall profit but it is very difficult to tell this % during Feb 2011/Feb2012 coz i am doing trading from 2005 when i just passed out from university...
This by Engineering knowledge not by any financial knowledge coz unfortunately i dont have that

I dont know about others because as per my experience very rare to find engineers doing stock trading

If someone has made an overall profit during past 1 year, I would consider him/her as above average.
If someone has made more than 50%, he would be bright;
If more than 100%, he would be super bright.
If more than 200%, I would be his/her student.

I started stock trading from September 2011. Before that I had some share certificates. So I'm relatively new to the stock market. But up to now my total profit is 50%. But most of them from AAF IPO. Except that total is 0-5%.

I do not think,
Brightness has statistically significant positive association with profits from CSE.
there are many unobserved factors that affect the profit level. Very Happy

Ok,Thanks guys.

(Well, in this context, we mean brightest in investing in CSE.)

So far only Engineering graduates have come forward with gains.
(I am not sure @snandasiri is a grad or not; but you're a lot above average in my view)
Does it mean others haven't made any gains?

If so,

So far,

Undoubtedly,

Eng. Grads are the brightest of the lot!!!!

They are all-rounders.

Why bright guys sometimes fail is their extreme thinking and fear on a move Wink

1000% mate.. ur boss can screw ur performance if he's evaluating it, but in market ur running the game and returns are urs Wink

Well.. Any Graduate who had not done trading or investment at all may have not made profits Wink
he hee.. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Hmmm.. I dont know how to put this.. But there's no co-relation in being a graduate/professor and a master trader/investor @ CSE..
Its mostly common sense which guide your greed through a "profits, fear, desperate, panic, loss" kinda cycle...And the overall experience u gained from winning - losing game..

For me; I dont think I need a degree/masters to trade in CSE.. I only need to concentrate on how the market behavioral pattern would be affected on certain scenarios, economic outlook, negative-positive news, etc... and how much of a trading cycle would last in technical-wise.
