ccsentha , other good hotels in my watch list are Pegasus,Amaya and Hunas Falls.These hotels are running with a rreasonable profits. But you have to study their performance and future plans deeply.

Dear manula, According to their financials RENU's core busines is it's hotel operations. How ever RENU functions as an investment trust too.

You are right Monster, RENU is not involve in Agri,packing or export business. Companies fallen under RHL such as COCO and RAL are engaged in Agri. and export etc.

My pick for the medium to long term would be CHOT. This is based purely on market positioning and future asset value.
Most of the new hotel projects (and even restaurants) are targeting the high end of the foreign tourist market. This market is somewhat seasonal and more importantly, vulnerable to a various external and internal factors beyond industry control (as we witnessed during the war time). There is a large and growing year round middle class local and Indian tourist market, grossly under serviced and largely ignored by the big industry players. IMO the CHOT properties are some of the choicest bits of properties in Sri Lanka. The CEO appointed last year indicated that they would probably be targeting a different market.
I am not good at financial and tech analysis, would really appreciate if people in the know contribute.

What is that 125M finance cost in income statement? it has been marked as an income

@ccsentha: My guess is that the finance income is partly due to revaluation of loan given to a related party, in Australian dollars. The devaluation of LKR has increased the value of that loan; the increase in trade receivables of Rs 62 million (in cash flow statement) also suggests this.
