Voting shares have more privileges while Non-Voting shares have less privileges.
It is only the Voting shares that are entitled to vote at a meeting of the company and such shareholders could determine the future progress of the company. In the event of a crisis situaion the Voting shareholder plays a vital role.
Voting shares are entitled to a portion of the profits of the company, while the Non-Voting shareholders may receive a lesser portion of the profit as determined by the Board of Directors. Non-Voting shareholder will have no part to play at a meeting of the company.
In the circumstances why is it that CDB (N) is trading at the market for a Rs. , while the CDB (X) is trading at Rs. Is't this a peculier situation? This could be manupulation at its best. This is a clear case of the authorities unwillingness to dig into this matter and expose at the trading floor, how this is happening, why it is happening and who is behind the whole episode. rather than waite with their hands folded and waite until it resolves by its own.
It may be that our SEC is the only place this type of things are happening, mainly because of the unwillingness of the authorities to regularise this situation.

I just do not understand your complain and SEC needing to intervene.

If the voting share is more valuable than the non-voting share, why do you want to go and buy the non-voting share at a higher price than the voting share?

And, if there is something hidden about the company that makes its non-voting share to trade at a higher price than the voting share, why not keep away from such a bad company (I am not referring to any particular company here, especially those named in this thread)? There are only a couple of companies in the CSE that trade in this way. I too do not know the reasons but if I want, I go and buy the voting share at a lesser price than worrying about the price of the non-voting share. Smile

IT'S BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE IN CSE WHO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SHARE MARKET.

ANY ONE WITH REASONABLY AVERAGE SHARE MARKET KNOWLEDGE WILL KNOW VOTING SHARES ARE VALUABLE THAN NON-VOTING SHARES.

YES IT'S ABOUT DEMAND AND SUPPLY, BUT NO ONE WITH SHARE MARKET KNOWLEDGE WOULD PAY HIGHER PRICE FOR NON-VOTING THAN VOTING.

hehe, good thought, but you must understand the behavior of CSE by having experience..

just understand the mentality of crowd, then you can win easily even with a shit counter..
there were people who paid much more higher price for rights where the normal share traded far below the right's price.. Laughing ,thats the CSE crowd,be with them and steal their wealth legally by trading.. Cool
or loose with them if caught at peaks Cool

You are correct mark and ccsentha. But, if you do steal, you will have to pay back some day, in some way, according to the "cause and effect" theory. You will be at the 'effect' end of your 'causes' at some point in time.
