It seems mrkt still in a selling mode. Not foreign selling but domestic selling. You can see that very clearly if you analyse the summary in the equity market page in the cse.lk.

Some firms who have exeeded the limits (credit) up to 70-85 range still selling. Is that the reason?.

What is your idea

My idea is people don't want to buy when dollar is not stable. Foreigners trying to sell shares to stop currency losses. New one don't like to come until dollar get real stable since no one like to put money on highly unstable/depreciating currency. It will take sometime to stabilize the currency market.

It seems locals cash out their portfolio deferring the reinvestment in equity market. They are aware of there is no signal of strong market sentiments. Also, they are tempted by heavily advertised finance companies which offer high rates.

It says further increase of rates is inevitable to meet the year end growth rate & single digit inflation. Some are trying to hang on & profit taking with sudden jerks.CSE reports indicate that foreigners take this opportunity in their favor collecting good counters with net cash inflow.

it is tricky to say that how long this wait & see policy prevail. Anytime market may boost up for unknown reasons but known by few.

main thing is black money not coming to the market.. there for no manipulation.. normal investors are moving out of the marekt thinking about different directions ..same way high inflation also can be one point.. cannot hold for a long. EPF selling shares due government required money for the treasuary..Forigners are buying for long term and getting good dividends.

If you have money can keep for long term or day traders will be a genius buyer. with new shares ..buying on credit will be stupid buying ..
