Stock Trader

Below is a part of my portfolio and I need your advice to come out of the grave that Im currently in. Question

LHL.N0000 200*63.24 - Loss=1147.00/=
LOLC.N0000 100*139.56 - Loss=2096.25/=
MBSL.N0000 300*50.56 - Loss = 1279.41/=
SEYB.X0000 300*47.53 - Loss = 3159.54/=
SMLL.N0000 600*89.49 - Loss = 7494.72/=
WATA.N0000 1,000*30.34 - Loss = 4438.80/=

1. Is it better to buy more shares and average LOLC & MBSL or should I sell them off at the current price?
2. Should I keep SEYB & SMLL and go for the rights issue or is it better to sell them off at current prices?
3. Should I sell WATA & LHL and go for a better share like LGL.X0000 or GLAS.N0000?

Its just a part of it Bro...and the reason why I put it is to give others a clear picture so that they can make a better decision...anyway appreciate your comments!!!!

And a quick question for you - Are you recommending me to hold WATA without exchanging (with a loss) it with a more promising share like GLASS or Laughs??

friend friend friend .......,
don't make the mistake of averaging the price of your stock, if you have the money
all most all the counters are on discount sale now, go for a good stock and invest on it, and hope your losses can be redused by this move

if u asking what are the good stocks, then read the older post of this forum, specially from
smallville, seyon, mark, econ, monster, slstock six out of 100 here

My strategy is to identify an undervalued share and allocate a certain amount of money to it - e.g. Rs 30,000. I also decide on a target exit price. Whenever the value of the investment drops below the 30k allocation, I buy more - to make it 30k. This is a kind of price averaging.

I completely ignore technical factors. (I know that's wrong, but I don't understand technical analysis too well.)

Almost all the shares you have bought when it was in the peak. I am not an expert. But in my experience what I can advice you is, don't chase a share. Try to buy fundamentally strong shares when it is stagnated. Don’t buy because others are buying and don’t sell because others are selling.

This is not the time to sell. Try to hold it if you have holding power.

but we also should look for fundamentally strong shares....
simply we should go for fundamentally strong shares which have good technical support.... Smile

Friend,(i am also not a expert)
i am not going to comment on your stocks.only advice i can give you is study well before you buy.specially find out EPS( EPS grouth), NAV, what there business and understand there future of the company.ovoid enter to a particular stock at peak.dont jump and buy becoz others buy.think every mistake that you made ll give you good lesson.better to always keep some free money (or even credit) in your account.then you can catch some good share at a bargain price when there is panic selling in the MKT.

Thanks a lot for everyone...But I was expecting you guys to concentrate more on the questions I have asked...

1. Still the hope for a Banking rally has not totally dried up, so I thought of buying more shares (since they are very cheap now) and bring the cost per share down of LOLC & MBSL so that I can sell them when the market reaches green..maybe with a profit..

2. What about SEYB & SMLL right issues? do you advice me to go for them or avoid them?

3. With the anticipated plantation salary hike I dnt think we can expect WATA to reach 30.50/= in the near future. So my strategy is sell them off at the current prices (loss will be 4500/=) and buy GLASS or Laughs (Which I believe will give me at least 3500/= profit within a couple of weeks if I buy at current prices) so that I recover my losses up to some extend and most impotently I can gain some capital to play around.

What do you guys think?
