Yes, of course. Very Happy
Some days he rides the bicycle to the Parliament.
Most of our media either avoid (or are forced to avoid) posting such news for mass circulation in SL for various reasons (upsetting the pecking order of the society).
I have seen to my own eye, the Queen mother's Rolls Royce was waiting for lights to changed to Green to proceed.
Unfortunately, that is confined to only nursery rhymes in our country. Shocked
In SL, nobody obeys rules.
Breaking them is endemic.

Yes can imagine

The guys in the background will be in civil and body guards
There will be an individual with a red shawl in each cabin.
Whole Railway network will be shut down for security reasons
Public will be held back by thousands of good for nothing policeman at railway stations
Extra buses will be deployed for those inconvenienced creating a mess
Trip will be towards Hambantota and flight back to Colombo via Mattala
Chinese ambassador in the last cabin!
It will be a new Chinese donated train!
There will be Gold ornaments in the hands with food products rather than a silly state newspaper!
Villagers will dot the rail line to see leaders wave at them and falling at their tricks!
A major rally at Hambantota railway station with a pathetic speech to end affairs!

This is why it is hard to get our fellows to get on a train! A fleet of Mercedes S600 breaking road rules is good for now! Hope they leave the trains alone!!!!!!!!!!

Hope our fellows dont take this picture as good propaganda material! DELETE! Razz Very Happy

Good for further reading on how our transport can be improved!

Once I see this I was very very emotional.
We always tend to blame white people for their arrogance. Why can't we take good things from them. And also this should be shown to our politicos who insist luxury in order to work for poor people.

Here is another I found very interesting, seems to be a humble person though a PM

Here is another link.

In our country, all ready the matter was settled out of the court (or settlement like recent attack - Fashion Bug) or the traffic police branded as mentally sick.

I know some of educated parliamentarians in sri lanka also behave like this

But present system do not allow this type of behavior

Most of our people do not have Academic knowledge above GCE OL

We too had more humble PMs like Dr. Wijayananda Dahanayaka in good old days. He used to travel in Ruhunu Kumari daily. Unfortunately, the new crowd (both ruling & opposition) who profess that they are for the well being of the poor is not prepared to value such eminent leaders any more.

If David Cameron shut down thw roads to go from A to be, he would immediatley be removed from office. Whatever people might say, the UK as a true functioning democracy and independant institutions.

They gave us those very same institutions when they left, all we did was destroy them and make them arms of the government. Typical thrid world banana republic.

Sadly We never learnt good things from Sudda. By generations we have been forced to hate western world. But since independence the majority of sri lankan politicians sent their children to study either in europe & states. (UK has to be the no 1 destination).

We cannot just blame our politicians its same in India, Pakistan and rest of the 3rd world countries.

Majority of Sri Lankans are very innocent yet uneducated people. They can be easily mislead by our politicians and some religious leaders.

Regarding David Cameron. Most probably he will lose his job by next general election. He is doing (most) what is good for their country. But those are not popular with lazy lower class white people. Middle class is also struggling. UK runs by 5-10% of the population who are extremely talented but they alone cannot win elections.

I remember that the JVP said that they will come to Parliament in three wheelers and not take their duty free permits to ease the burden on the mass.

But who to blame but ourselves? in a democracy you get the leadership you deserve.

Excellent idea if they can do it again. Think how much can be saved on the parliamentarian vehicles and the guard fleets.

Highly unlikely that deaf and blind travelled by bus to accept the presidency. maybe you have read another outdated book?

Preme had just been wacked by the LTTE, deaf and blind would have been an idiot to travel by normal bus at that time.
