The Colombo Stock Exchange received more than Rs 7bn in foreign buying in 2013 as the market maintained steady momentum over the last month, surpassing Rs 5bn mark earlier this month.

Foreign buying into CSE escalates 33-0710

Inflows were buoyed by foreign investments in John Keells Holdings, HNB, Commercial Bank and most recently in Pan Asia Bank PLC, which received $630m from Bansei Securities Ltd of Japan. While local investors may seem disinterested, foreign funds have shown keen interest in the local markets recently as stabilising policies by CBSL seemed to take effect.
