SAMP waives off certain fees & charges. You have to be an account holder/credit card holder as well in addition to having shares.

In one of the Private Hospitals in Colombo, there is a dedicated counter marked for "Shareholders Only" but it is always deserted and when I checked with them the discounts that I am supposed to be getting, simply being a part owner, I was told that they are unable to find my name in their Data Bank.
They politely requested me to go to their Head Office to sort the matter out but I did not go, instead I sold my shares later at profit and washed my hands off.
In typical Sri Lankan style, most are unable to walk the talk sadly.
So my advice is not to put your money on counter because they promise Sun & Moon.

Most fees charged by the bank such as fees for electronic transfer of funds, 50% of credit card entry fee etc.
Last year they issued a circular to share holders and still in force.

The bank would love to have your whole family as a share-holders even if you have one share because to get the benifits you have to be a customer, open an account with the bank and do business. If you are a one share-holder without doing any business you dont get those benifits. Got it?
