why the price of BFL decline rapidly?is it good to hold this stock?

Results of GRAN and TAFL are not as expected. That may be the reason for the decline. But it didn't decline dramatically. Still BFL didn't release the financial statement. BFL may produce better. We have to wait and see.

P.S: I do not hold any poultry stocks in my portfolio

BFL is one of the fundamentally strong stocks with very good future potential. Their last quarter earnings is over Rs. 10/=. They are going to commence a new business venture on a 40 acres chicken farm as well somerwhere in April 2011 in addition to their existing capacity. This will reflect in their 30/06/2011 earnings.

For me it's a real worth stock to hold for another 6 months or 2 quarters. The temporary decline may be due to the price fluctuations seen in TAFL and GRAN. TAFL and GRAN did not perform upto expectation and their EPS was bit low due to high cost of production.

As far as BFL is concerned, they are having their own maize prodution. There may be a slight reduction in their earnings this quarter but next quarter will be very good for BFL. Eagerly waiting to see their financial statements for the quarter ended 31/03/2011.

Also there is a very high possibility of a share split which will create additional demand for BFL shares.

Gran and Tafl have done well when you compare last years quarter to this quarter but the problem is many people expect quarter on quarter improvements. poultry tends to be a seasonal share as well and they seem to have the best quarter in December ... when you look at the results just announced it's possible to say that they will do better this year in terms of turnover, However a point to ponder is their increased cost of production , even in this statement they clearly imply that the cost of maize has had an impact on their performance , however my gut feeling is that the shareholder returns will be good specially if we can hold till the end of this year Smile

....it looks rather bleak now specially for those who bought at the 200 ++ levels but this is a share that can rebound fast on a hint of positivity... I too have parcels at 220 and 170 I will buy a few more at these levels so that my average comes down I must say though that we expected more from the chicks ....but in my books it's not like they are heading for a doomsday scenario (unless bird flu or some natural disaster hits ...we pray that it doesn't happen ) and are making profit ....if it was heading for trouble I would sell at a loss Sad
