Gainer, which brokers are recommending?

RPPA, since you seem to understand the bond business, how does companies like Esl and CFVF make money by trading when interest rates are flat or increasing?

Interest rates not flat its trading (Bonds are trading)
ESL have good Interest Income
now they doing Stock trading also.

I think they will expand business using these days big profits.

EX if they can make 1BN profit for 6 quarters.

next year the can invest that into Normal Money Market(giving loans to public)

these days Finance company taking 18-24% (Gamwala Samithi wala Loans walata)

that mean atleast they can make 20%

Next year Additional Profit = 1BN * 0.2
                                          = 200MN
Additional Profit 200MN

That mean Per share Additional Profit = 200/30
Aprox Additional Profit around Rs. 8.0(After Tax 5.5)

if its mix with normal profit we can expect 10-14 per year.

if they give more Dividends (CFVF) they cannot get  this chance.

I dont thing these people are doing stupid things. (bcz last time they gave 1.61 Dividends)
that means 20% for 2013

then I expect 5.50 for 2014, annualized earnings around Rs 28.00.

think and invest. (some expert here they are saying different stuff. if you invest you no need to worry. bcz when you invest you will compare background and Targets)

if you doing trading you are following only trend.

Stockback, I do not think you understood my question. Interest rates are flat - unchanged during latest policy review. What you are talking about are bond yields which is different to interest rates. When bonds trade, the price of the bond and the yield change.

When the interest rate is cut, the price of the Bond goes up and the yield goes down. What I was asking is what happens when interest rate from Central Bank remains flat? Isnt the ability to gain from trading limited so how would they maintain momentum? I understand that they will keep getting the interest income from holding the bond so my question is around the trading opportunity.

As a disclaimer, I have ESL in my portfolio and am quite convinced that they will continue to do well. Even in the quarterly report the CEO states that they will further continue to sustain its growth momentum. Typically, CEOs dont make statements like that unless they can stand behind it. Their credibility is super important. I just wanted to ask this question to understand the business a bit more before making a significant investment.

bonds/sri-lanka-government-bonds]http://www.investing.com/rates-bonds/sri-lanka-government-bonds[/url]
I am talking about "Open Market Operations"

I dont think they can profit this way using T-Bills only. still they can make some profits from T-Bills(Bonds)

at this moment they have opportunity to maintain 10-14 profit level for each year(bcz they are going to make big profits for 6 quarters)

then they have options. I know what you saying. my idea is now ESL in strong position.

if ESL has(management) good eye and ideas. they no need to stuck with T-bills....

my last point ASPI will continue until 9500 during next year also
Market P/E ration 14.27
http://mobile.bloomberg.com/quote/CSEALL:IND

I think it can move until 17-19(P/E) I mean Bloomberg P/E, not CSE. Then ESl can make some profits during next few quarters doing stock trading

Aran, Exit price is up to you. If you are a trader and happy with 20% you could do so. And if you are a bit of a investor you will want to hold this for long. With ESL I would recommend the latter. But this is not an investors stock as there are key features missing but it is a growth stock which needs to be ridden.

suja,i ask is there any pullback there we sell the share and rebuy it at lower cost. i know this share is value more than 130 so i dont want to exist totally.i ask is there any opportunity that we could exploit

It is better to keep ESL and CFVF in your portfolios until interest rates starts increasing..Am I correct?

even if they have moderate next two quarters still eps should be around Rs.20 taking a moderate version of 7 price should be Rs.140. My gut says eps will be 25 end year and price at that time easily over 175

if you triple earnings EPS of Rs.30 which can be done and is not impossible then price at PER of 10 should be Rs.300 if you take per at 5 then 150. ESL is a gem and is at a bargain at these prices. don't miss out enter now and become a millionaire

This is exactly can happen
