If Im not mistaken Ravi karunanayeke is a member of CIMA.So apart from his business background as CEOs and Directors he has the academic background also.So dont put comments just listning political speeches.Also What I saw in this cabinet MY3 has given right person the right ministry.For Example,

Court - Wijedasa And Sujeewa.Both are lawers.
Policy Economic Affairs - Ranil with Harsha who has a doctorate in Economics.
Power - Patali Who is a Engineer

You and I both know that how exactly mervin became doctor and namal became a lawyer. it was gifted. But CIMA is a pain in the ass to get (RPPA should be able to tell), sujeewa a genuine lawyer. lol!

To set the record straight, Ravi is a member of local CMA and not CIMA.

Ravi is ACMA. Which means he has qualified CIMA.

But personally i don't like him. Hope he will do a better job of what he has now.

If you are CIMA qualified you get ACMA(UK). People who have done local CMA also get ACMA but without the letters UK added to the end.

There was a famous court case some years back where CIMA UK filed against CMA for providing ACMA.

If i am not mistaken Ravi got qualified CIMA even before local CMA started. CMA qualification not even 15 years old in Sri Lanka. Very Happy

I have seen a copy that has sent by CIMA to Ravi by congaulating him for appointed as an minister in 2002.

I guess Ravi must have fellowship (FCMA) by now, If he was a qualified member with related experience long time before. Being a politician, no issue to be finance minister with long political career with such educational exposure.

Every minister must have high qualified, well experienced smart & precocious person related to ministerial functions as an adviser with heavy responsibility.

Also, looking for politicians characterized in super forms is impossible. It is the dexterity of a person to correct himself the wrongful things did in the past. Moreover, it seems current cabinet would be reshuffled after next election.
