TKS also told me no need to have money in the account. So I'll have another round of broker selection and will open an account on Monday.

So, I got registered with TKS but I'm really disappointed with their service. trade.tks.lk is down and their DirectFN TWS software doesn't work.

Assets Line Security's online trading soft is very user friendly and IT team for technical support. but their Client accounts statement is too complicated.

Capital trust is better for me and giving pair service. also they update the A/C in less than 24 hours. I am using the updated version of ATrad and it is so simple and work on even slow connection. I am not promoting CT, just giving my experience, However, my adviser is ???

Yep Capital Trust is the best one. First Capital is also good but they have only few recommendations.

Also please tell me how it functions when changing the broker firm from Nation Lanka to another one.

I expect the broker firm to provide reasonable margin facilities, research report, alerts....... Finally the firm should be able to change our direction if we are going wrong way.

Nation Lanka is only providing the daily sales details available at the CSE . Nothing else.

select some brokers from CSE website and call or email and ask few questions that you need to know. pick 2 broker companies who answered your questions at best. that is how I did.

Some of the factors you need to consider when selecting a broker firm.........

1. Providing access to an online trading system is a must.

2. Although many brokers share us with daily reports summarizing day's market, some others sending you market summary plus a summary of a valuation guide with some recommendations. only a few brokers provide you with quality equity research (detailed report on a particular stock or sector)

Market summaries even available on the website/Facebook page, so you don't really need to select a broker company to have these, but quality research reports

3. Online payments/settlement options

4. Some brokers focusing on foreigners / high net worth clients and do not care much about retailers, and sometimes even difficult them to talk.

@ColomboCSE

Since you have worked with 8 brokering firms and even currently working with 3, you must be in a good position to comment on which is the best.

So, on your experience which broker provides you with best research (company-specific and sector-specific reports) and valuation guides/recommendations (Buy/Hold/Sell) on time??

@MoneyLover,
You think now I was working only 3 b'cos of other 5 is bad.

1) No it's not! they all still call me sending reports, now my current situation those information not needed. but my early stage those information really help and I have compare with other brokers.

2) For Ex: no one recommended me to buy "Bill" when i started first Bill Trade. and no one recommended to sell it when i ask (4.80 - 5.10) but i did.
But when "Bill", @2.50 all of them call me ask buy more "Bill"...that time I already profit

For me, all broker basic is same for me... same reports with different template, they send us every day.but some broker you can have good broker agents but some not.

for me brokers are just like lottery selling agents... each day they telling me
"අද දවසේ දිනුම් අදින්නේ මෙන්න මෙ ලොතරැඉය කියල"

 So tell me guys how can i recommended???

@ColomboCSE
100% agree with you. Brokers' researches are more important at the early stage of stock trading and when trader get matures they do own research which is always more reliable than following others' views.

However, not every one mature enough to do own research nor spending times ...that's where external/broker research is important.

Therefore, freshers may interest to listen from those with more exposure the research support each broker firm offer........   Idea Idea

I am with one broker firm for the last 10 years or so. But the last couple of years, I haven't got any special report (i.e. company-specific/sector-specific reports), apart from daily market summary along with the watch list.

everybody saying the criteria to evaluate the broker no one gives suggestions, recommendations according to their personal experience. so every newcomer has to open an account in each broker and themself need to find out who is the best broker.  I'm also searching for a broker to open an account, my current broker is NDB, doesn't send any report to me.
