Thanks guys. Just because there is a management change or downsizing premises these brokers should not take off hand decisions. They should have the courtesy to inform their clients the reasons for such decisions and also look at the history of clients accounts. After making money from clients if they decide to ditch the clients unceremoniously it shows the callibre of the management.
Goodbye to Asia Capital, I hope all the clients who have suffered this plight ditch these brokers and go with someone who is trustworthy.
Thanks guys.

While we see the CSE & CDS are trying to promote small time investors. They even went to the extent of allowing one share as the minimum share to purchase.
This action of the broker is contradicting the policy of the CDS which wants to popularise the stock market trading islandwide.
Therefore, in the circumstances, I suggest that the Chief of the forum must refer this matter to the CDS and have a common ruling on this matter before the other Brokers too decide to change the prevailing rules and regulations.

I too were thinking along the same lines. During the previous regime the Treasury Secretary wanted the Pensioners to join the Stock Market without depending on fixed income on their deposits. I have a suspicion that Brokers are allowed to give margin facilities based on a percentage of their client portfolio. Are these people pushing out the small investors to accommodate  the sharks. Even in this scenario I cannot imagine their choice as they recieve the same commission from all shareholders unless they are in the game with the large manipulators taking us all for a ride.
Unfortunately the suggestion to the Chief of the Forum to refer this matter to CDS will be a no go because Quibit has stated ' Asia Securities still remain as a most flexible broker outfit'
This could also mean that they do somethings for some people out of line.
AS for Anjelo's comment ' their service is good and friendly and Priyantha is the good guy' I cannot understand why you need good guys and friendly service if you are dealing on-line.
I leave this for our members to decide as I have decided to move out of Asia Securities for good advice all my friends to do so.

Don't just rely on the broker as they are commission driven. They will be better off the more we trade. Always do your result while you listen to brokers, other market participants, etc.

I think the complain of some people were about loosing credit facility on online trading known as buying power. Asia Securities has taken this facility  from the online traders with a portfolio below Rs.500,000/-. The present Management has only looked at the current portfolio without any consideration for the past performance which shows their limited knowledge of todays stock market.
As somebody pointed out they might be pushing out the small investor to look out for the big guns. According to CSE rules stated below their credit limit is guided as follows.
7.1.1 EXTENDING CREDIT LIMIT
A Stockbroker Firm may extend credit to its clients for the sole
purpose of purchasing Securities traded on the CSE, provided that the total value of the credit extended shall not exceed three (3) times of the ‘Adjusted Net Capital ’ of the Stockbroker Firm.
So the best thing for small investors who wants to invest less than Rs.500,000/- with online trading facility is to look for a more flexible broker outfit other than Asia Securities.
