KGAL is the biggest listed rubber plantation. It is well managed. Their last 2 quarter EPS was around rs 5 and 8. With surging RUbber prices there is a good possibility they will make EPS around Rs 10-11. If so there is possiblity to further upside. THis is one of the stongest plantations to watch out for in the present market.

yes Rubber price is one of the main reason

Other than that the contribution from rubber is almost 85%

less portion is coming form Tea, which is less profitable crop.

and soon there will be a wage hike. It will effect the tea business but not rubber because it is less labor intensive

Also, due to the high oil prices there will be high demand for natural rubber.

what else??

I never say future prices but as you asked and have some Intel I would say by this Thursday it should pass Rs. 300. The finical report is due to come on this Wednesday told by a Intel I believe is true. From my estimates the quarterly earnings have to be at least Rs 12. Also as the rubber prices are still hiking and hit a max last month I would say by next quarterly they should produce a way better result. this means I'm expecting the share price to pass rs 350-400 in 3 months time. Ofc if they go for a split the price wil climb a lot as at the moment the price of the share is a tad 2 high for the retailers.
PLZ do your own study though this is in no way 100% garented stuff but analysis backed up my studies.

Few days back, someone working in the plantation sector told me the rubber prices are not high as the previous month. Do you have any idea on this? Has the prices really dropped? pls share if you have any info.

Temporary drop in price ( compared to the previous highest) due to Chinese NEw Year closure. Might pick up again when it finishes.

KGAL may touch 300..
But Don't get carried away with Tea & Rubber all time high prices in world market..
I know a tea and rubber estate superintendent..
he said although tea and rubber recording high prices.. the crop is very low due to bad weather.. So it decreased their turnover substantially..
So Be careful! don't expect miracles from Plantation.
Pay hike on march also will affect plantation adversely..

Rajitha,

Have u taken into consideration the anticipated pay hike in March (or April). The profitability might come down with that. My thinking is this a tad too high after 270 now.. Rubber market is temporarily stagnated as Chinese new year is going on..
Can it really pass 350?
Whats ur view?

Pay hike mainly affect the tea plantation sector and the rubber tappers already get paid a amazing amount! Also if you check KGAL have been improving there quarterly reports for like year or so now even before all these rubber price hikes. Also Still the rubber price is higher than what we saw last December. I'm expecting at least rs 12 earnings for the past quarter from KGAL and it should be even higher for the this quarter. This means if I'm correct with least of my expectations a forward PE of rs 48. Not to mention KGAL has already started the replanting for sometime now!
Anyway I have no intention of selling the stocks at least till another 3-4 months what ever the price level and I bought another 100 today at 270 level. I do really believe in another 3-4 months time it should pass Rs 350-400 mark. (OFC this could happen way earlier than that)
