Bull/Bear Power is an effective technical indicator developed by Dr. Elder-Ray to measure the strengths of competing groups of bulls & bears. The strength is plotted through daily price distances of day-high and day-low compared to the previously determined moving average. The mostly used average is 13 day exponential moving average (13 day EMA).
The distance between EMA and a day's high price measures the strength of bulls on that day and the distance between EMA and a day's low price measures the strength of bears on that day. (the maximum level bull can push the price and the bear can drag the price). When these distances are plotted into a histogram it is visible a clear direction of where a particular stock is heading.
The combined values of bull and bear power shows the overall value of the indicator. When the bulls are stronger than bears the indicator is positive and the histogram is in the upward trend whereas when the bears are stronger than bulls the indicator is negative and the histogram is in declining trend.
I have applied this technique to TAFL past price details from 1st April to 11th May. I have used the 13 day moving average as the initial EMA then calculate the EMA for the rest of the days using excel. Here are the results.
You can clearly see the indicator is increasing continuously in the positive territory indicating the bullish sentiment of the stock. this means this stock is still going on.
