Hi Guys and Girls!

In my personal view the government would not be foolish as e last budget in this year!

Can u all remember how many proposals were reversed by Ravi k!Specially e bar on leasing for banks and VAT!

I have feeling over tax increases in tobacco and alchohol,VAT will be sure increased?

Hi Guys,

An Update on Budget Possibilities stated by FM in news papers

Budget 2017 deficit set at 4.7%: Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake yesterday confirmed the VAT increase to 15% would be presented for parliamentary approval in the first week of October and would likely generate Rs. 100 billion in additional revenue by the end of 2017 to push forward stronger fiscal consolidation and contract the Budget 2017 deficit to 4.7%.

This may not be a good news for the companies.

On top of that if government increase the oil prices it also would create an across the board impact in CSE. However Ravi K. has told in papers that there is no risk for SL as a result of oil price hike.

We will have to wait and see on these volatile developments in coming quarter.
