if you bought RCL after 20th JAN, definitely you know the reason for this price appreciation.
If you don't know or didn't know, then i appreciate you ask this question then others can learn lot. thanks for sharing, i believe people should share their stories behind bad decisions (CSE related![]()
) and how their thought process worked to made those decisions. thanks again.

RCL is a very good counter. The only thing specially in CSE you must have good patients because this is Siri Lanka we are very different. You know the letter sent by SEC and CSE to brokers ? Wrong timing and no advance planning.Warren samarawickrama wrote:I raised cash immediately at 335 (placed the sell order at pre opening) once the government shown their eagerness to well come imports, regardless its withdrawn. Actually i don't know the reason. that is my whole point. any person who bought this at higher price should know the reason. if a person bought this doesn't know the reason ,then he/she can not say whether those reasons are sustainable , then that person has played some one else's game.Wonderer wrote:@xhunterxhunter wrote:I have started trading in CSE around 2020 may just after reopen the market. probably you have few years experience, so it is a joke if I try to advice you.Vasyan wrote:mara loss with RCL![]()

Appreciate if you can share the reasons behind.
On a separate note, it doesn't matter if you started in 2020 or 2010. You have shared some good posts in this forum. One specific one I can remember was about the portfolio management in a market uptrend. It showed your maturity in trading/investment. Keep sharing your experiences. All the best!

what i am trying to say is "play your own game". fine tune it with market conditions, if the play ground is not suitable for your game , wait or adapt your game. never play or be a part of others game.
loosing opportunity is acceptable and can not avoid. but "fall into a trap" should be avoided.
Note: even though I am not sure about the reason i have a guess. in a single day there were set of share split announcement for DPs companies. RCL is not only tile/ceramic company, it has invested on different sectors and has shares on those companies as well. at the same time there was planted idea saying that IN and DP is fighting each other for the first place. for me it is hilarious idea. This is the start. but non of above reasons are not solid and can make a sustainable price appreciation.
@Vasyan
what i know is , there are share holders who anchor this share. this is a wild guess , it will be anchored at 280 at the bottom. so selling at this point is not a good idea. when market turnover increase again this will move up (that's how RCL behave). so sell at right time
Did the same exited most Tile shares with good profits had a good run.Warren samarawickrama wrote:I raised cash immediately at 335 (placed the sell order at pre opening) once the government shown their eagerness to well come imports, regardless its withdrawn. But remember Tile & LWL, the basis of the split was 5 to 1, but in the case of RCL it is 10 to 1, the advantage RCL has over TILE & LWL is their expected performance 20/21,shan31 wrote:By looking at performance of Tile & LWL after split and current bullish market trend, I estimate RCL to close above 400 before split and then to appreciate over 50/= before end of April.

MoneyLover wrote:DP's investment in the confectionery sector was nothing new. It was on headlines a few months ago..
As per the information, the 33-acre belongs to DP, and constructions/development works already begin and proceeding for the last couple of months.
This came to the surface again with the disclosure in RCL's latest quarterly report that its subsidiary Rocell Ceramics Limited was renamed Biscuit and Chocolate Company Ltd (see the above post). This indicates the possibility that the aforesaid confectionary venture of DP could come under RCL. However, we could reasonably assume that no investment has been made so far by the RCL group yet, as there were no disclosures to date.
Therefore, the most obvious guess is that DP will sell the venture to RCL (and will be acquired by the Biscuit and Chocolate Company Ltd) contrary to earlier speculation that it would come under Hayles Group considering synergies
