LOLC's upward thrust is not without a reason. I feel the stage is set for the group to emerge as the most powerful entity in CSE whether we like it or not. I smell something, but may be wrong.

Hayleys will certainly retain its shine for sure.

These splits are spoiling the market, but I strongly believe this will bounce back very soon.

True. What I don't understand is how anyone is going to benefit buying a stock a higher price that's going to be split. Absurd.

I was kidding, actually it is a game. now retailers believe that share split will increase the price and it is evident. but it is manipulated and now even there is no need to manipulate. just announce it, next day price will jump.
but the real game is, retailers only buy once it is announced. but the party who actually control this collect before the announcement.

if someone think they will use their own accounts or related accounts to dump these share at the right price, they definitely believe fairy tales.

you can imagine who  this party is. because they should be in a position to decide share split of a company.

again if people believe they fight each other to become the richest man in sri lanka, i have only one question, "so childish", could it be?

Agreed that driving a share to very higher levels due to a split doesn’t make sense. This is done in order to get into the share before the split. Bcz after the split generally price goes up due to demand created by the liquidity. So even for people who buy at a higher price pre-split can expect to make a profit a few days post-split as seen in CIC for example. We can expect a similar phenomenon with the rest of split shares. ACL is next I believe followed by DPs companies.

No, if you all closely look what this private company is , and how it raise funds you will see what is going on.

if you are too lazy i will give you a start. assume that i have a pvt company, it invites other people to "bring their money and we will invest that wisely, you will get the return".

but latter i realize that one of investment i made is too good, it has a huge potential and my clients get a real advantage out of it.

a man with a good heart will be very happy about his clients ,but a person like IN?

If you watch carefully what happen last Friday and today due to love letters from them. Then they withdraw it, but poor retail investors throw what they have.

It's shame & discrimination that they mention those share names in the letter. Simply they tried to kill the momentum. At some point they success but some hold there valuable shares.

Think before jump such traps.

I don't know that, but I think so.
This is the second letter from them. First letter did the damage I guess and investors momentum. then they also saw the effect and they released the this second letter.

This could have possibly, if at all, sparked the panic selling phase last Friday!
But what investors need to notice is that this does not call in for any action from the brokers' end, at least for now!
Perhaps, this would be a good move to prevent the undue build up of a credit-driven stock market bubble...
Only thing is that this should have been done in a proper manner - with proper awareness!

I think it said issue was with a back office service provider of brokering firms (referring to atrad platform).

Also, I don't think there is a restriction as such imposed by SEC or CSE on broker firms granting credit/margin. However, they are asked to follow certain best practices.

The BIL sale quantity is shrinking with only about 2% of total issued shares held by public and the rest with the 20 top share holders.

Hence, very soon it ought to break loose from 6/50 levels. You can see a very noticeable change in the order book confirming my observation.
