Why don’t we put it as “NDB Wealth Management” purchased this stock expecting the company to perform in post covid environment now.

*NDB Wealth Management is the No 1 Wealth Management Company* i find it difficult for the management to make a stupid decision with the purchase of AEL if they expect a 20% price drop. Should be the other way around

I consider the purchase as a positive sign. Please correct me if i am wrong. Thank you.

PS - I hold AEL shares.

Hi All,

Just now had a conversation with an employee who works at Access (A good and trust worthy friend) and got to know below,

1. It seems after 2013 it is only now the company is running at full capacity.

2. Will not disclose any financials but you will see the performance of this quarter in a month’s time. Come back and let me know it i was wrong after publishing quarter 2 Financials.

Further, Sathosa Motors is a part of Access and they are the ones who handle Land Rovers. A Vehicle was gifted to the most powerful political leader in the country (know people know). With this i am sure there is political backing for this share.

@Chathura - You motivated me to get the right details from right people to get clarity on what i have invested on , so thank you.

Now i can say to my fellow members that unless for a manipulation this share will reach RS.30 in coming week/weeks and move towards 35 in coming months.

Hi all,

#AEL is a stock one should collect and hold specially with Pohottuwa government in power. 100,000 km construction work is planned by the government fueling the cash cycle and reroute economic revival through fiscal spending which is the only way to pull out private investments as well.

Hence, I have high hope on AEL as they will be a highly benefited candidate to get most of the construction work.

For your information AEL is a pioneering company in flyover construction in Sri lanka having successfully completed three projects in order to ease heavy traffic congestion without any defects or complains after the construction work was carried out. Furthermore, the projects were carried out under the previous govt.

So, they are pre-qualified to handle this project using advanced techniques backed by vast experience and they can secure the work on competitive bidding on merit alone. They can rely on their ability, technical know-how & competitiveness and not on any other factors.

NDB Wealth has stepped up buying into Access Engineering PLC on behalf of its clients on value, given the optimistic outlook for the construction and infrastructure sector under the new Government.

On Wednesday SEB AB-Tundra Sustainable Frontier Fund exited Access Engineering selling 18.3 million shares (1.8% stake) and the buyer for Rs. 394 million was NDB Wealth. AEL closed on Wednesday at Rs. 22.10, up by 1.8%. Tundra was the 13th largest shareholder. Last week NDB Wealth bought the stake of AEL Founder Director Ranjan Gomez as well. Gomez sold his remaining 24.6 million shares mostly at Rs. 21.50 each.

Analysts said that with the Cabinet this week approving accelerated development of highways and flyovers as well as incoming infrastructure projects on water distribution – a strong point of AEL, prospects look positive for companies in the sector. The anticipated approval of Vote on Account today in Parliament will ensure cashflow to construction activities and contracts.

“The medium to long-term outlook for the construction and infrastructure sector looks very promising and augurs well to kick start a faster recovery in the economy impacted by slowdown last year and COVID-19 pandemic this year,” analyst opined.

Certainly it has the potential. Govt's decision to build the flyovers is just the beginning to be followed by several mega infrastructure projects. Prospects of an unprecedented construction boom in the country is on the way.
