Sri Lankan stocks have gone through the roof. I do not like to jump on a moving train - certainly a fast moving train. -- Jim Rogers

may be due to couple of reasons.

1. Might be because of the human rights matter which is being discussed these days.
2. Might be another Asian market is performing better than this.
3. May be the market has been RED for a long run and they might be thinking of the opertunity cost of holding in to the stocks which they have profits.

4. May be it is an indication of a market crash. (This is the worst i would like to expect)
5. May be they also need money to bid for the greatest IPO's to come.

Actually the ASI seems to act just as an manipulated stock , aint it. . just check the graphs it had an accumulation phase where it build up slowly , and then the trend start so the trend increase and then due to that trend ppl get in madly flying ASI to sky ,
and now the ppl who collected at the accumulation phase release the stocks to collect profit . the nearest example is PAP.

but any way hope for greener is always with us. . Very Happy Very Happy

I think close to Net 90bn woth of foreign funds have gone out of the market from last year to date.
This means local investors have absorbed the 90bn. On the other hand IPOs and rights issues sucking out money from CSE.
this is the reason why the fundamental shares are not moving and going down. the retail invetors who grabbed some strong shares selling it due to lack of funds and holding power sending those shares to low levels. SEC rules adding fuel to the situation. Meanwhile taking advantage of the situation specuators driving penny stocks and illiquid stocks.
the sadest thing is that the local investors are loosing their capital. If the foreign investors re-enter the market again they going to win again. They will grab shares at low levels from us and sell it to us at a highprice. We are alwys loosing.

Agreed with all. When considering all the facts foreigners are still thinking our CSE is overvalued.
If this continues 6800 not be the bottom.

This is the issue well done all. If you look at it foreign funds are moving out hence the more stable stocks are also going down as there is no one holding and retail play is happening on good stocks. The big guns in the market is also selling to be more liquid, institutions are buying but just to keep the market afloat. Lets watch, having said that this cycle creates a lot of opportunity also for some one looking at good counters to invest for 1-2 years.
