TWOD Foreign buying

450,000 were purchased by foreigners yesterday, that might be happening also today looking at the relatively high volume levels on the bid side.

Last 3 -4 days they are collecting DIAl,TWOD and disposing some plantations shares,RAL and etc.

Touchwood is a good buy at this level. PE is less than 3. NAV is 46.30. PBV 0.30

Favourable conclusion of the court case is inevitable with IFRS's being adopted this year.

Net Foreign Holding moved up by 442,900 shares.

What happened to Sangakkara ? I did not see him top 20 shareholders list.

Yes. Mr Rienzie wijethilaka former HNB ceo is now chairman at touchwood. A very well run company with great potential.

First the net assets or the trees and the land of this company does not belong to the company. They belong to the customers who put their money. Am I correct? So they are only just the garden keeper. The garden keeper does not own the garden. He just look after it for a salary. So what remains in the company in case it is closed down?

Second are there any customers here who invested in this company? Did they get their investments back?

Thirdly Rienzie is also the head person of another company Sunshine. How is that doing?

The assets of the company belong to the company or they would not be able to include them in the balance sheet. Investors get their investment back upon matuarity and harvesting of the timber and touchwood also gets a significant portion of the return. They also have secondary incomes from plantation management fees and cash crops. Touchwood has been in operation for 12 years with 25000 customers world wide.

Timber is one the safest and stablest forms of investment surpassing stocks and bonds. Forestry has continous revenu as different batches of crops mature and are harvested yearly.

Really impressive figures,only problem is court case(Next hearing Nov).

If Twd loses the case, what will be the impact to Accounts.Anybody knows........?

Court conclusion will be in favour of touchwood as it has used internationally accepted accounting standards (IFRS) in its financials. Dispute was that they didnt use local accounting standards which were not upto date at the time. Now the locals are also adopting IFRS standards from this year the problem is resolved. We only hav to wait for the court case to wind up to see a major bull run in touchwood. Even before that it shoul trade above 20 Imho.

There're customers of sampath, commercial, HNB as well as TFC and Golden Key. What about few of those thousands of touchwood customers? How was it going? Did you get your investments with profit?

This court case is a good thing. It drives the otherwise worthless share like those early SEC meetings.

This is like any other junk stock, like GREG, BLUE or PCH. It's a trading stock. Probably the global touchwood bought the shares.

Forestry is a legitimate world recognized business that is reputed to be very stable and sustainable. Touchwood is a forestry company. If its run properly and legitimately it will do extremely well.

People of course are scared its some ponzi scheme where the company takes money from people and grow a few trees somewhere for show and run off with the money.

But i dont think the sri lanka institute of chartered accountants will award a certificate of Compliance to the company if its a ponzi scheme or that it will win the national quality circle award under the manufacturing and Service sector .

Junk share for me is a company thats run dubiously or the share is trading at an overvalued price. Neither is true in this case.
